Jose Canseco shoots up Mark McGwire

That's total bs dude.

So if I get busted for juice, I can go ahead and rat on my dealer since it is MY court trial? I know it's not exactly the same thing but it is similar and if these guys want their business known then THEY should be the ones to tell it.
That's a completely different senario. And come on bro, dont act like you didnt know about Mcguire and those guys juicing. Its not like he's making baseless accusations here. People write about people in books all the time. How many biografies are printed each year that talk about how so and so used to snort coke with this famous actor or musician. This is the same thing, only difference is because its about a baseball allstar, nobody wants to hear it. Everyone wants to shut their eyes to what goes on in their beloved sport of baseball and be in denile.

All I have to say, is that if I didn't want people to know I am using, and I know it violates the MLB Rules, why shoot up with a few guys in bathroom stalls ??? Shoot at home before you leave, or in privacy, they had to see this stuff coming.

But that's the thing. Up until just the last year or so, steroid use was not against the rules. So everybody that used before the rule changes can admit to it and the league cant really do much about it because it was allowed.

Not only was it not against the rules, but MLB welcomed it twice. First after the strike season when McGwire and Sosa were chassing Maris and then again in the latest negotioations with the players union where they used it for leverage. They are the biggest bunch of hypocrits around. It's off topic, but just pisses me off how they try to make it seem like all of a sudden it's a big surprise and they are totally innocent.

You know what else this brings up? Everyone and their mother wants Barry Bonds' head on a platter, every sports writers chews him up for taking steroids and not admitting to it. But Mark McGwire? no way he took steroids, he's a classic hardworking American. I think there's definitely a racial thing going on.

The guy I feel who has gotten the worst end of the stick is Giambi. He is the only guy who has been dead honest about his use and look where that has gotten him. I live around NY and let me tell you it aint pretty. But if you bring up guys that have also obviously used them like Bonds or Sheffield it's not as bad since they were "tricked" into taking them. Give me a break. Giambi is going down in flames for basically telling the truth. You have to wonder how Giambi feels deep down about this book.

Still from a purely self-centered view, this really sucks for the average steroid user. Any mention of gear or performance enhancers in the media is bad news and this publicity is the worst. Then you get the bullshit outcry from joe public and this is followed closely by the "which way is the wind blowing" politicians who don't give a damn about the issue or public good but see a chance to ride the public opinion to another term. More bullshit laws and such will be our reward, all b/c canseco decided that he had whored out every other thing in his pathetic existence and all he had left to pawn was his former teamates dignity, not to mention the sport that gave him far more than he ever could have hoped for otherwise.

I dont think it is a racial thing. I mean look at bonds. He doesnt talk to the media very often, and there is all kinds of stories about how his own teammates dont like him. he has a monster ego and is arrogant. His interviews are less than interesting and the media hates that. Mark McGuire was on gear no doubt but the steroid issue wasnt what it is today. People flipped when he said he was on andro, and McGuire is very well respected as a player AND a person. He is very personable and players, fans, and media alike all appreciate that. Notice when he was in the spotlight, he did interviews and was appreciative of the attention. Barry Bonds acts like noone should bother him .I watch baseball a lot and when I see Barry on the tv, I change it. He gets on my nerves the way he acts. I am not in the media, and if I was and he wouldnt give interviews or act like an ass when he did, I would probably have something against him. The fact too is that he is acting TO THIS DAY that he didnt know the creme had a steroid in it( like that is all he took, please!). My grandmother can tell he is on something, shit noone 41 is that much bigger and muscular than in their prime. In summary, Barry Bonds makes it very difficult on himself to be liked and personally I dont think he gives a shit. :)

good and right on point.. but no real baseball fan would change the channel when barry bonds comes up to bat.. :) .. also i believe bonds can be as standoffish as he wants to the media .. he does what he is paid to do.. he also gets hounded by the media like fucking brad and jen.. i'm assuming it would get old..

Well, since the early 90's when baseball was considered a "dead" sport because fans didn't give 2 shits, juice reared its head. The theory was fans wanted more home runs. The game was boring for non baseball fans and the MLB was losing out to the NBA and the Jordan/Bulls dynasty that followed. Remember that guy...MJ? He ruled the sports world. So baseball needed to get more home runs. So they 1) Built smaller fields, where a double became a Home Run in some parks. 2) They began using a different grade rubber for the baseballs being manufactured that sent that shit flying like a tennis ball. 3) Bats were now heat tempered and layered with a varnish that makes contact with the ball much more drastic. and 4) Juice was pretty much encouraged by Bud Selig
Bud Selig used to be a USED CAR SALESMAN!!! Get the picture? Anyone remember Brady Anderson? In 1996 he hit 50 HR and a .637 Slugging Percentage!? JFC! one year before...1 YEAR!!!, he only hit 16 Home Runs and had a .444 Slugging Percentage! He's only has a .425 LifeTime Slugging Percentage! He has a 19 HR avg. Lifetime. I remeber noticing his neck dissapeared from one year to the next. If you're not in denial and juiced, we know the tell tale signs. No neck, bigger head, acne, broader shoulders, and moon face. Bonds' head grew 2 hat sizes in his middle age! lmao. Mondesi, Piazza, Sheffield, Anderson, Rodriguez, Sosa, McGuire, Caminitti ( died at 41 from a heart attack) are all part of the juice crew, and lots more. Canseco is totally telling the truth and I think it's funny as hell because it's so obvious anyway. It's only shocking to soccer moms and dads across America.
