Joint pain

I have a good friend that had his shoulder operated on 18 months ago. He has NO cartilage in his shoulder, the bone just rattles around in the joint socket. About 6 months ago he got these 3 shots (2 weeks apart from each shot), I can't remember what was in the shot, and it cost him a little over a $1000.00.
He is looking for another way to easy his pain. I told him Deca. I'm asking you guys how much should he use or if there is a better gear out there that is stronger than Deca.

Unfortunatly he should have had it taken care of long before surgery. Now if all the cartilegde is warn away he is likly going to get arthritis as the body starts bone growth to take up the slack, which by the way was likely the only problem to begin with but was poorly diagnosed and treated. Some prolotherapy docs are starting to utilize GH in with their injections to not only strengthen tendons/ligaments but also promot cartilegde regrowth as well. I suggest keeping an open mind and heading over to polones.com and doing some reading, there is a link there to many docs in the country, see if he can find one in his area.

Deca may help lub the joint but its not going to fiz something that severe. The injury likely occured simply to to spran/strained tendons/ligaments due to an injury, when ignored and the slopy joint isnt allowed to heal because use of ICE and anti-inflamatories it begins to wear away the cartiledge and bone growth can occur. Likely the surgeon went in ground out some lose cartiledge and maybe some bone and guess what? The joint is sloppy again and he will have the problem occure yeards down the road unless he get the laxity in the joint fixed, this cant be done with sugery.

I agree wholeheartedly. If it was prolotherapy he had, $1000 is a little pricy for 3 shoulder treatments, at least by my standards. With a shoulder that fucked up, however, more than 3 treatments will most definitely be required, IMHO. Deca will be slight symptomatic and temporary treatment, at best.
