Joint pain - Shoulders

I've been doing some heavy cluster sets with my upper body and I my shoulders joints very tender... I am wondering if the joint products listed at mr.supps (xtreme joint support) or N2BM (Forged Joint Repair) really works or do I need my oils in my diet to help my joints. I know I should lay off the heavier weights for a little bit to recover, but I would hate to mess up my routine and schedule. Is there other products out there would help with joint pain/repair???

They both have good ingredients but are not complete if you ask me. You needs lots of ascorbic acid >6g a day for collagen synthesis along with lysine and proline.

In addition you need to make sure your getting ample potassium, plays a huge roll in tissue repair. Most people dont get nearly enough from diet alone. 5000mg is a good minimum dose for athletes.

Next you need to make sure your body is putting the various bone minerals in bones where they belong and are not calcifying soft tissue. Vit A/D/K and magnesium are important factors here.

If you are talking rotator cuff pain I would strongly recommend laying off the weight for a bit. A bad impingement can set you back months and is no fun or joke. Take the opportunity to focus on something else for a bit.

Would N2 guard be good enough or do you think getting a bottle of Vit C for the ascorbic acid

I'd definitely start incorporating some warmups. Doran Yates goes over one that drastically helped me with the same problem. I can't remember the name, but you basically go to an arm curl machine and set it all the way up near shoulder height. You take a simple 10-15 pound weight and rotate it from horizontal to vertical. It doesn't work your shoulder out but it really gets your rotator cup warmed up and prevents injury. I do them before every workout that involves some sort of shoulders. Within a couple weeks I wasn't having any pain at all. Just go really light and do about 3 sets of 20. Do not work them heavy like a normal wormout, it's just to warm things up.

Lol they're hard to explain but check out Doran Yates blood and guts workout videos. It's on the very first part of this video,

Check out some of his other stuff too. Dorian had a great career with hardly any injuries and is one of the few that still have amazing shape after everything he put himself through. So I think his injury prevention techniques are golden.

I would look into getting some glucosamine/chondroitine 500/400, 9 a day, 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon and 3 at supper or just before bed and within a couple weeks you should start feeling a lot better and stronger. Any time I have ever had shoulder issues I use this and it helps resolve it for me.

Unless of course you actually tore something or injured yourself and that's something different.

Ya just check that beginning warm up. Sounds like you already have a solid routine. But he goes over a few injury prevention things that have worked wonders for me. And of course some supps every keeps mentioning.

Glucosamine works well for my joints too. I just keep a huge bottle at costco. Idk how the quality of the brand they have compares to others, but it works just fine for me. Only shitty thing is you have to always take it. Once you stop the pain comes right back.

i would also seriously consider adding in some rotator cuff exercises. They are almost always overlooked.
