Jeans that Fit my Thighs

the-short-one said:
OK. Who can tell me where I can find jeans to fit. Every pair I have has a gap in the waist and is tight in the thighs.

Big legged women - please help me. :D

In general....

AE makes great jeans for guys....their relaxed jeans fit me very well...Im sure they make a womens line that is similar

Have you tried Old Navy?? I found a pair there that are stretch & actually fit my thighs....... I always have the waistband thing, but have never bothered to have them altered.....

I hate trying on clothes. Trying on jeans and bathing suits are both on the very low end of things I enjoy doing.

Men's Levi 501's are the closest thing I can get to fitting right, but they don't quite make it. Victoria's Secret makes a great style called the weekend jean (straight wide legs) - but I'd like something a little more form fitting.

I don't have an old navy or an AE outfitters near me. I do have the Gap and a Dillards at my disposal.

Go to www.ae.com

I have ordered from them (since I'm overseas right now) and have yet to have to exchange a pair. VERY rare for me as it usually takes 4 try ons before I even like anything...The "favorite" jeans have a more relaxed fit and the "ultra low stretch" are more form fitting. Try the hipster...just my 2cents :)

My best friend has this problem also and she has tried EVERYTHING... I cannot make any suggestions but can relate to the frustration. I often get the gap in the waist by my butt. I cannot tell you the last time I bought jeans though. lol

Old navy has a web site too.....
those are the jeans that actually fit horrible on me (the waist issue) :worried:
Basically if I find a pair that fit incredible and cost $160, I will buy em and wear em until they are about to fall apart, there's always patches for the holes they accumulate :D

I have a few Pair of OldNavy.. Which I don't care for..

My latest find is Levis 518 Stretch Low Rise Boot cut.. They fit low so no worries bout the waist and they stretch ok in the thighs, I still have to do some pulling to get them up but they don't restrict blood flow... LOL.

I'll try em'. All my favorite jeans are getting holes in them (crotch area - they are so worn out that they're faded & super thin), so I'm going to be forced to get a couple of new pairs this year. I can't remember the last time I bought jeans. ?

Where'd you find the Levis 518? I want to check them out....

I want to get a dark pair for going out.....

I've found them at Foleys, Dillards, McRays. Check the Levi's Web site also.. I've found dark (washed) and light pairs..

I've found size is accurate.. Normally I have to go up sometimes two sizes to have them fit my legs.. but i'm fitting in my reg in JR's which is wicked for me.. Espically with the addition of the lbs i've packed on lately.

Really?

Damn... didn't know that. ;)

Checked out the Levi's site -- they sell them at JCPenneys, Sears, Kohls....cool....I'll have to check them out....

Hate to say it, because I can't stand her ............. BUT

J.Lo jeans are GREAT for "curvy" women. They are strechy and hug the butt like nothing else. They are usually low-riding, which some people hate, but they don't cause my butt crack to hang out (which Old Navy jeans do to me). I really like them.

Old Navy is good, but again, my butt hangs out of many of their jeans.

I have some Express jeans that I LOVE, they fit awesome.

I always stick with jeans with stretch in them. Otherwise I will NEVER get my thighs i nthem!

I'll have to look for them too..... but they are prolly $$$ cuz of her name....

At Old Navy I got the mid-rise jeans -- plus my rise is so short, they cover me completely.... now the Super Duper Low Rise = :worried: :worried:

I actually don't think they are TOO crazy expensive - around $60 here. I have one pair, and got them for free, so I am not positive on the price. :)

J-Lo products tend to bring out the gag reflex in me as well, but drastic times call for drastic measures. Where would I find J-Lo jeans?

SERIOUSLY...Let Levis custom make a pair.....

I saw on Macy's web page, they carry 1 pair but they have "diamonds" on them -- too glitzy for me.....

I just got this pair of Joe's Jeans last night at Nordstrom. Here's a few photos of them on me... They're the Credence style ($145.00)... They have stretch to them... and the waist kind of just forms to your body! I love them...
These photos are from www.ImageShack.us

I have a bunch of Jame's jeans as well, and I find them to be much tighter around the thigh and WAY too big on the waist. I also really like Citizens of Humanity... The Ingrid style is my favorite. Stretch to them as well... and the waist band goes up a little higher in the back so there's no 'panty peak' hehe ;)
Joe's, Seven's, COH... A lot of the different styles of those brands have the stretch in them and work well with pretty much any body type!

oh, also.. the inseam on the joe's is probably a little long for you... I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I'm guessing they're around 33-34.... I know Nordstom will hem them for you for free usually when you purchase the jeans from them. If you get them done somewhere else, make sure you tell them to use the ORIGINAL hem!

I"m finding I don't like the stretchy ones so much -- too much stretch & they lose their shape. Those that aren't like spandex are better.

LOL I STILL live for the day I can fit in a pair of Levi's size 28 501 jeans. The last time I did I was pre-puberty.

I fit comfortably (at least in the seat and waist) into a size 30 - they're hella tight in the thighs, though.

BTW - I can get into a special suit in San Francisco at the Levi flagship store so that a laser can take my measurements to fit me for custom jeans.

8th paragraph down.

That's pretty damn far for me to travel for jeans. They should just let me send in my measurements.

yes.. my Old navy ones lose shape .. but these 518's aren't over stretchy and even more important don't look stretch. Comfy and cute.. :qt:

Man I can remember wearing a size 24.. eeek.. :worried:

lol if they're the perfect fit I pay more than $100 no problem, and yes, i would probably sleep in them

When it comes to jeans & shoes, I'll spend the money. I don't wear jeans out like I do shirts. They need to last me a few years.

the jeans phenomenon happens to us guys too.

yeah - I was watching that A&E special on Arnold (Watch Arnold Run) and was wondering how the guy who was playing him had gotten into a pair of jeans. Took a closer look and they were stretch.

I have the same issue with jeans fitting. I just got back from the mall and tried on Old Navy jeans- no fit, Gap Jeans-no fit, and Hollister Jeans-yeah right!! I totally forgot to write down the names on this thread before I left today. :(

So, off to the mall tommorow to try on the J Lo jeans. It sounds like they might work. Whew! What an adventure!

Thank you! Great thread!

Definitely gonna check out the Levi's 518 jeans..... hope they have them at the JCPenneys near me........

LOL @ Hollister. I went in there ONCE.....realize that even the XL shirts wouldn't fit over my head....let alone around my back and shoulders! The pants? I bet I would be a size 22 in their sizing method!

I don't think so!

I know Daisy! Too bad, because they look so cute too! They can keep their jeans! Not even my big toe made it through the leg opening! :)

I never thought I'd be trying on JLO jeans, ever, but the more I thought about it the more I think they'll fit! :)

I'll post tommorow and let ya'll know how they fit. I'm going to look for the Levis 518's too!

Ok- here's the latest on my jean shopping extravaganza. After looking everywhere for the JLO jeans, finally found them and couldn't wait to try them on. Guess what................they totally didn't fit!!

No jeans for me! I decided to wait until I get to my goal, that made me feel better! Hope you all had better luck than me!

:)

Awww, too bad. So much for my suggestion for you. :(

I still maintain I LOVE mine. :) But my Express jeans are in the running for my favorite ever. :)

It's ok Daisy, I saved money though! :)

I have had some luck with the Gap Reverse Fit jeans. They also come in an "ankle" length so I don't have to hem them. They don't come in any of the trendy, hip-hugging styles that are popular right now, but at least I don't have an extra yard of fabric around my waist and lack of circulation in my thighs:)

Went to JC Penneys today & checked out the Levis 518 style jeans -- they fit but were too "low" for me -- the pockets were 1/2-way on my thighs -- a look I didn't think looked right on me....... In Misses jeans, they had an equivalent -- 515 or 550 jeans -- I forget which now and they didn't have my size.... oh well....

I have the opposite problem with jeans - the waist is too tight and the thighs too loose.

Guess thats cos I am an 'apple' and not a 'pear' I have a wide waist, narrow hips & thighs.

Found the jeans!! Went to a different JCPennys today & got the Levis stretch 515 bootcut jeans -- 10 short...... And they are loose!! Yay!! So I can dry the heck outta them & still be able to wear them...... now I need to buy a new belt..... And they are a dark wash -- pretty cool looking....

I can wear the Levis SIlver Tab baggies....but they arent baggy - LOL

I wore my new ones out tonite for sushi & they are pretty darn loose. I need a new belt BIG TIME. The 8s were waaaay too small.........

the-short-one said:
Doesn't that make you feel GREAT? :D

I'm lovin' it!! ;) Hubby commented that they looked great on me, even tho he didn't like the dark wash....

Jeans do suck!!!!! I'm a dude and I know how you girl feels, try to find a size 33 inch waist and 29 inch thighs is hard!!!!!. It seems now at days jeans are made for the european Slim look for dudes. I have to wear size 38 waist to get my thighs to fit right it sucks!!!!. I have to wear ugly jeans lol cant find those nice faded ones you can get at Express etc........

every time i've tried on jeans there, i'm SURE they're gonna fit- and always, they are tigh in the thighs and i could fit a watermellon in the waistband, or half my ass shows.

Have you tried AE relaxed fit? Anything saying 'relaxed' typically should be baggy/looser in the thigh. I did find a pair at Express for my BF and they look awesome, he's 6'5 and BIG legs. Maybe I just got lucky :)

Word sista. I used to love their jeans, but everytime I go now, I have the same issues.

Jen, I used to LOVE Old Navy. Everything there fit me great, and it was all cute stuff.

Lately (the last 1-2 years), I can't find SHIT there I would even wear if it was free. Thigns are being geared more for the 12 year olds, cut and style, IMHO. None of their pants fit me right anymore.

And DO NOT say it is because I am getting older, lol. (j/k)

Their shirts are crap IMO -- thin & crappy...... I guess I lucked out with the 1 pair of jeans I got....
