cameras dont make very god self defense weapons. Trust me, I tried to hit someone with my iphone and it failed spectacularly.

There's little parallel here because Trayvon was only walking home to his Dad's fiancé's house. No criminal intent at all. The kids in this case weren't profiled. Scott was sitting in his house minding his own business when he car was broken into.

Secondly Scott actually testified in the case whereas Zimmerman did not. The DA did cross examined him. So his story had a chance to be vetted by both sides.


I disagree with the shooting unless there's clear evidence that Scott was physically attacked. The evidence that Zimmerman was attacked is shaky because he was not physically or forensically examined directly after the incident. He was simply let go and the kid was tagged as a John Doe in the morgue. If Scott would have called the cops when he first knew of the break ins he probably wouldn't have went to trial at all.

Ultimately I disagree with the actions of both Scott and Zimmerman. We live in a day and age where cameras are everywhere and they can deter crime simply by them being seen by the perps. One can install a camera by their residence and get all the footage on tape. We have police , you can call 911.
Neighborhood watch is not supposed to confront criminals , they are supposed to watch and call 911. The reason both Scott and Zimmerman confronted the so called criminals is because they were looking for trouble.... Be careful what you wish for. Everyone involved has been in trouble since.

Yeah, Scott clearly knew that. If memory serves, Trayvon (lol @ the fucking names people come up with) was posting pics of guns and drugs online. Maybe "black america" should work on not gunning each other down so much, focus more on education and community, and not letting riots and protests be the only thing they actually work together on.

Irrelevant. What matters is the totality of the case showed that zimmerman had "reasonable fear for his life and/or serious bodily harm". Jury saw all evidence. Tried in a court of law, acquitted of both murder and manslaughter, case closed. If you dont like it change the self defense laws that every state in the nation has.
 
There was security camera footage of my shooting incident in 2010 thay was used to my advantage in court.

The camera was displayed in clear sight on the side of the building, 10 feet from where a 3x3 sign was hung next to the door saying 'smile, you're on camera'

Guy still pulled a gun, broke a back window stuffed a gun in my grandmother's face. My .40 put a thumb sized hole in his chest, breaking his collarbone

Meanwhile, the camera sat and watched. Didn't even offer help, or to call the cops.... Dick move on the camera's part, no? Gotta get.me one of those crime deterrent cameras...
