I am currently on a pretty strict cutting diet 5 days a week (50/30/20 p/f/c) and I loosen it up a bit on the weekends where I still try to eat good but I just don't count the macros. Weekend eating is not a big fat or carb problem, I mainly tend to eat less and not to get enough cals. on those days. Anyways, I have been steadily loosing wheight for several weeks now, while putting on a bit of lean muscle. The last two weeks however, my weight hasn't moved (I weigh myself every week). I do feel denser and my clothes are feeling looser (down a few notches on the belt) but I am wondering what I should do now? Should I lower my cals. or should I stick with the current plan and just follow my appearance rather than the scale?

I just don't want to over react and loose muscle due to a big cal. deficit or because I freaked and started doing too much cardio. Just need some sound advice or reassurance.

Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that muscle weighs more and is more dense than fat. Therefore, you can lose fat, and gain muscle but remain the same weight. Your close will fit better, etc, but the scale doesn't move. That is why it is important to take other measurements (e.g. body fat percentage) in order to determine progress. Don't get caught up in the scales reading as it can be somewhat self-defeating.

What about using some supplements ?

Ephedrine/caffeine
NYC
Clen
......

I tired the new Hydroxicut, but I didn't like the stimulants. Made my thinking too cluttered and over all too gittery. Plus my penis retracted its head like a tortoise while I was on it, I read that it is a common side effect with hydroxicut, something to do with limited blood flow down there. Needless to say, I finished the bottle and don't wish to take it again. I am curious about sups. that stimualte the thyroid though (T3). Don't know what NYC or CLEN are.

Supps that "play" with thyroid may be VERY DANGEROUS

NYC = norephedrine, yohimbine, caffeine

clen = Clenbuterol (indrease the most your metabolism but give you the jitters)

does yohimbine affect the thyroid

No

Yohimbine is a plant substance derived mainly from the bark of the African tree, Pausinystalia yohimbe. Yohimbine is the active constituent in yohimbe, although similar alkaloids may also have a role.

Yohimbine blocks alpha-2 adrenergic receptors (alpha-adrenoreceptor), part of the sympathetic nervous system19. When alpha-2 receptors are activated, an anti-fat-burning effect occurs. By thwarting these receptors, yohimbine initiates the breakdown of fat.

Yohimbine also increases the diameters of blood vessels.
