Today is a truly sad day for me..

I went to the doctor to have a routine checkup done , I havnt gone in like 8 years so I was like f*** it .

He did the routine blood and urine work, but when he measured me I was 2 inches shorter than when I last measured myself ..

I was 5'11 at age 20 now he says im 5'9 Man!!!!

I almost started crying like a biatch!!! He explained to me that youre spine turns into more of an S shape as you get older and you loose a few inches!!

Has anyone had this experience?

Did you use the same instruments when you measured your height at 5'11", if you used the old intrument again then you'll find that you're 5'11" again

also if that's true that you lost 2inches, then you should go immediatly and do a cancer test mainly Bone cancer, marrow cancer and Leukemia
because this 3type of cancer can makes you loss your height

There is another, not so serious phenomenon that can attibute to this: Spinal compression. It naturally occurs as we get older and can be excaserbated with weight training. See a chiropractor, start stetching more and try to do some inversion movements (hanging upside down). Also, next time you get measured, make sure to asked to be measured 2x, once with weight applied more on one leg each (sometimes, we have one leg shorter than the other).

I lost 1.5" from when I started lifting. I like to squat alot, and it probably compressed my spine some. At one point I stopped lifting for about 4 months, and actually gained back most of the lost height.

whatever. I'd rather be wide.

Yea thats what the doctor said it was due to.
He said as you get older youre spine takes more of an S shape.....

Man 5'9 ???? Cant I take GH or something to compensate? I used to be 5'11

No thats called something like sublaxation (I'm not sure exactly what the term is). Compression occurs within each of the vertebrae and is fairly reversible. There is space between the vertebrae and soft cartilage that can become compressed, causing "shrinkage".

Go to a chiropractor, get xrays, and do the therapy if it is a big issue with you.

damn slash... how old are you that you're getting frickin scoliosis already? should have drank your milk.

Damn Slash, sorry to hear that!

My grandfather is 73 now.

I'm not old enough to remember, but according to my dad, he was 6' when he was 50.... Now he is 5'6".... Meanwhile, my grandmother is 70, at 50 she was 6'1, and now she's 5'11....

That's with my whole family, most of the males shrink when they age, while the females shrink also, but at a lesser pace....

I wonder if it's more prone in males???

Im 25 man, what the hell,

Im going to be a midget by the time im 40!!!

My friend "Claims" hes 6ft and I was standing next to him yesterday and im about an inch shorter than him..

And my girl is 5'8 and I got her by at least 2 inches, now either the doctor forgot how to use the scale or the whole world is shrinking the same time I am ....

Im going to buy a tape measure today, for some reason im not buying that 5'9 shit.....

Really a good plan you have been doing. I will be following your more post about this. Thanks.
