inthe last 3 weeks i've been regarding that people in the gym hold the bars and barbells in a different way than mine (which is excactly like holding a dummbbells:4 fingers on one side and biggest finger on the other side).Actually they hold them with all fingers on one side.Is this right to do?Is it recommended?Does it help concentrate the movement on the muscle? Is this made with dummbbles too?Are there special muscles that you have to hold the bar like how they do????THANKS

Are you talking about a false grip? With the thumb over instead of under?

If so, yeah...it's kinda helpful when doing back (with straps) and tricep pressing exercises like skulls or pressdowns.

it can help on back day and with some tricep shit, but dont do it on the bench!!
dangerous

from what i remember, the 'false grip' is supposed to take wrist flexion out of the picture to some degree...

false grip is crap

the point on bench is like phenom said to take out wrist flexion and align the barbell with the bones in the wrist forearm, and upper arm

its retarded...... it throw off your center of gravity IMO

and on back i agree it does make it easier to hold the weight........ buy you some straps and wrap your thumb around the bar

GOD gave us opposable thumbs for a reason..... use it...... as well as your brain

but if you feel more comfortable...... go with it
