I read somewhere that weight training for at least 30 minutes raises your metabolism for up to 48 hours and 30 minutes of cardio raises it 45 minutes.
 
i dont know about 30 minutes because that doesn't mean anything, i see fratdicks and other slubs in there for hours.

i think your more correct in saying "intense" weightliifting can boost metabolism for up to 2 days. in a study done buy Univ. of Wis. la crosse.

I too have read before that 30 minutes of moderate to heavy weight training burns more calories than an hour of cardio. I believe it.

This is correct...any training with weights will burn more calories and keep your metabolism uplonger then cardio...you exert more effort throughout your entire body doing standing dumbell curls then you do wlking at 3.8 on the treadmill with an incline of 5...

I heard after an intense workout your matabalism is up for like 12 hr. maybe I was misinformed.

I have heard similar to what mike has heard: that it raises metabolism for upwards of 12 hours. I dont see how it could possibly raise it for as long as 48 hours. That just seems crazy. Wouldn't that mean that ever time you are in the gym, you are building an even higher metabolism, stacking on top of the boosted metabo from the last gym time? Crazy i tell you

I don't know about THOSE numbers, pers se, but there are plenty of studies that show that interval sprints done for 20 mins will keep the metabolism higher longer than 60 mins of cardio at the target heart rate.
