Protein in peanuts is not a complete protein. You have to eat it with grain products (these contain complementary amino acids) so that it becomes complete. This is why we eat peanut butter on toast

.
All animal proteins are complete though. So protein from milk, cheese, meat, and etc are all complete and are absorbed by your body even when consumed alone.
For these reasons, I eat a couple peanut butter sandwiches with loads of cottage cheese on top for breakfast.
Also, complementary proteins do not have to be consumed at the same meal to be useful (legumes/grains). As long as they are consumed within the same day, it is all abosorbed by your body.
