Is it worth it?

Now I know a lot of guys on here have Motorcycles so I figured I would come and ask you guys. Like all things in life there are risks. But obviously I am one because I wouldn't be on this forum haha. Now with motorcycles there are risks because they are obiously very dangerous. But they look fun as hell and I have allways thought that they are a HUGE pussy factor. I mean and how cool is popping a wheely too haha. I was thinking of taking a motorcycle driving course that gets your license and they teach ya how to ride. And than of course seeing if they are for me and if so I would start saving for a bike. Maybe even do another course to make sure I really am ready for the road.

NOW, my question is anyone have good/bad experiences with them. Do they really pick up that much tail too. And in the end, are Motorcycles worth it?

This is CC conversation, I'll move it.

I've been injured MANY times on a Motorcycle!

What the hell? Are you serious? You are getting a bike just because you think women will instinctively flock to you proclaiming their fondness of your proficiency with a motorcycle? Dude, think this one through.

I have three friends who reaped a lot of hospital time, pain and permanent disabilities from riding street bikes. If you ride enough it isn't a question of if but when you have a serious accident.

Haha no, I was just asking if that rumor is true. :chomp:

I have been riding motorcycles for about 12 yrs. I have had friends hurt, one killed while riding. I am a single guy with no kids and if I die on my bike, it will upset my immediate family but will not financially strain anyone. I wouldnt be leaving any children or spouse. Riding motorcycles is dangerous, generally because vehicles do not see you. I can remember riding down a main 4 lane road and this lady cutting right into me. I literally had to lean my hand on her drivers side front door glass to balance and not go into the median. She was scared to death and it was a bit unnerving to me as well. People are the problem when riding.

The good part is , yes you can probably get some play with a bike. Assuming it is nice and you are in the right area. It is a great opening line, wanna go for a ride ? Most women like the idea of it and the sense of calmness and relaxation is so nice too. I really like motorcycles but no matter how good I am on one ( I can ride wheelies for blocks) I never lose respect for the bike.

Summary, when you throw one leg over the bike, always realize that there are obvious dangers involved and in an accident you will always get the worst of the crash. Concrete has never lost. Good luck with your decision, but if you do get one, TAKE the safety class. It could save your life.

good stuff, How often do you do wheelies lol?
Another tidbit, if your game is solely based on the bike then it isn't worth the risk. A guy who rode with my nephew just ended up getting his girlfriend killed as well as ending up in the hospital for several weeks because he hit a pot hole, lost control and went into a tree. Another guy blew a stop sign and got owned by a car....both last Summer.
