i know exactly what you're talking about. For me, the numbing effect only happens while i'm actually working out. Then a couple hours later the pain comes back. I'm hoping some time off combined with the glucosamine will help get everything back to normal.

This link talks about the differences between the hcl and sulfate forms of glucosamine. It looks like there isnt any difference between the two except for purity. The sulfate form has stabilizers added to keep it from changing colors (usually sodium or potassium chloride).
for a while all i took was protein.....then i started glutamine and amino acids....for the first month or so....not much happened....but i started to notice a difference...its long term....so yes it does help me
I took some time off because my wrists were hurting me. The funny thing is THEY GOT WORSE. lol I was worried about how I can start lifting again with the pain. After the first day back to lifting, my wrists felt better.
I think the reason is (I know there`s a word for it but I don`t know it) the "numbing" effect of working out has on the system. So now when I stop working out, My joints hurt more. it sucks.
the numbing effect you are talking aboutis because of the endorphins your body releases when you work out. endorphins are your body's natural painkillers. endo=within morphin = morphine
