If you're looking to increase you're actual blood arginine levels, citrulline will do the trick. I had an amino acid profile done and my arginine was low out-of-range. I supplemented with 6-9g of citrulline malate (on workout days) or l-citrulline (on off days) and after a few weeks had levels re-tested to find that my arginine levels had improved, drastically (3-4x what they had been).
