Is a little jealousy healthy?

Right when cw made his thread I was about to ask the same question. Don't read too much into this...lol I am just wondering.

For example..if I was an actress I know for a fact taht Johnny wouldn't have give a shit. Most guy's I've dated trust me and I can do whatever I want. Sometimes I wonder if they ever care/cared.

If most guys you dated trusted you that much, you are probably a goody-two-shoes and they didn't feel there was anything to be jealous about.

That's the way it is with my wife. She's incapable of bending even the smallest of rules so I know there's no way she'd cheat.

TRUE jealousy is an outgrowth of the jealous person's inherent insecurity issues. It's about fear of losing the object of their affection because they don't believe they are worthy.

It is possible to desire to be monogamous, to not resent any outside intrusion yet not become green eyed about it, and yet not be possessively jealous. It's a maturity thing, really.

I think poly/open relationships can work ... that being said, I don't think those relationships can ever be as truly intimate (psychologically) as monogamous relationships have the potential to be.

Please .... Get off the soapbox. Jealousy is one most primal and instinctive emotions. it's normal to feel in a small dose given certain circumstances, even if it's brief and you have to rationally frame it to calm it.

If you're completely devoid of it, it means you're not emotionally invested enough in that person. That doesn't mean be a controlling psycho but there are specific situations that can make any rational human being jealous. .

it depends what you want.

if you want them, jealousy is good because it shows they care.
if you want them no jealousy is good because it shows they are secure.

if you dont want them anymore, jealousy is bad, the clingy lil faggot!
if you dont want them anymore, no jealousy is bad because that fucker didnt even give a fuck!

The irony of this thread is that most people who say they aren't jealous or dont need to be in this thread have either been guilty of cheating/infedility , or at the minimum...super shady dealings outside their marriage.
