cool. thank you all. i started looking up weight class record holders and felt weak.
I think Amy Weisberger pulled 500 at 148 last year...but there is only 1 Amy
Laura Phelps-Sweatt recently competed and did a 745 squat, 500 bench, and 525 deadlift in the 181 class as well.
Always remember that YOU have to be happy. Man, you have accomplished a 510 deadlift, nobody can take it away from you!!!
She is not even breaking parallel with those squats, how do they pass in competition? Power lifting has become a joke.
I was thinking the same thing just along the lines that her stance is so fucking side its like a 1/8th squat. Anyone can do that with a fucking suit and wraps.

I'll pass that along to Laura.
Till then...suit and wrap up and do it yourself.
Jeeze...the embarassment is the people sitting behind a keyboard who have never unracked a weight NEAR that, much less as a WOMAN.
You ever worn an Inzer Canvas Suit? Know what kind of wraps she has on?
Did she hit "depth" on those lifts...yes she did. She got 3 white lights!
Can't wait to see you suit up man. I hope nobody gives you a single compliment for squatting 4.1x your bodyweight, benching 2.7x your bodyweight, and deadlifting 2.9x your bodyweight.

510 is a very good DL. Especially from (and this is not an insult in any way, just noting a training difference) a BBer.
I think if you work at it, you will be surprised how fast 600 will come. A lot of people seem to make the jump to 600 from the low 5's very quickly. Please note that information is purely anecdotal; I have nothing to back it up other than my observations, and conversations with others.
One BBer I know changed from conventional to sumo once he hit 520 just to change things up and work different muscles. He had to drop weight but in a few months had it back up to his conventional numbers. I asked him if he feel that it helped, and he said it did, but never really quantified what exactly was helped, and not being a BBer I would have no idea.
Not to take the wind out of your sails, but I work out with a 17 year old 168 who pulls 630. I only mention that for the sake of it. Your 510 is still something to be proud of.
B-

i cant compare with the freaks. that kid must be freaky. i used to train a ton of teenage athletes and a few were freaks. i can believe your numberss as ive seen similar and its crazy.
No matter how much you can lift, no matter how fast you can run, no matter how good you are at what you are doing there will always be someone that can do it better, even if it is just a little bit better.
The key is to worry about your own lifts, your own personal goals and new Pr's.
That is an AMAZING way to put it!!!
although still wont be in 500 lb club yetI pulled a PR of 770 today...was pretty happy.

I don't mean anything against her personally. I just think the rules are stupid if they are going to allow you to wrap up in shit that keeps you so tight it adds soooooooooooooo much weight to your lifts.

So at what point of exogenous testosterone levels do you stop being classified as a woman?
And saying that "anyone could do it..."
The lack of respect given to any competitive athlete on this board reminds me why I left this board for a long time. I thought that things had changed. Clearly I am wrong.
And since she weighs less than you and can outlift you on all 3 lifts...why would one want to take the time to insult such an accomplished lifter when their time needs to be spent eating and training instead.
I will admit that was not the best wording. Surely not everyone can do that i was just trying to exaggerate how much the equipment helps is all. Sorry Bfold you know were bro's.![]()

I'm going to have to quote Louie Simmons here:
"I've got a bottle of test and a bench shirt laying on the bench back there and I've yet to see it lift a pound."

It was a legit question scots.
When I tore my achilies tendon and was in a cast for 3 month's the crutches didn't do jack shit on their own either... but they sure helped me walk around the house when I used them. Something I was unable to do to without them.![]()
Not in the training forum. If you wish to make backhanded insults via questions you will not post here.
If you wanted to ask a medical classification there is a med board. If you were looking for info on test levels there in an anabolics board.
Do we have an understanding?
Cheers,
Scotsman
We absolutely do and I agree the training forum is for training.
But please do not put the words "competitive athlete" anywhere in here either. True competition requries that only genetics and skill determine the winner. Powerlifting absolutely does not have that.
My comment was meant in that way. Remove the equipment and the juice and then let's get some true competition.

drugs have been used in all professional athletics. why remove them from powerlifting? and these people dedicate their body, mind, and life to completing these feats of strength. as competitive as it gets really. who is stronger pound for pound? i would say these people are actually leaning more towards elite status than just athletes. athletes can be anyone, top of your sport, thats elite.

ya, though I have and never will performance enhancing drugs, I say for sports, all and any sports let the athletes use what ever they want.
People want to see the big hits, they want to see people break records. Steroids saved baseball and the comity now has the audacity to try and persecute the very players that brought baseball back after the strike? Bunch of hypocrites.
And to Scotsman,
I am saying there has to be a line drawn somewhere as to how much "aid" you are getting when lifting. I just feel it has gone too far and powerlifting has lost a lot of respect as a sport. Soon they will be using that bionic suit to lift 5000lbs+ that the army developed, lol
I understand the big lifts bring in people and the sponsors, but at what cost? To most it is a joke now days. Which is truly sad because I would love to watch power lifting on tv, but it will never happen.
510 EF dl lbs converted into RL lbs is about 225 with shitty forum

My opinion only. If u wear a deadlift, squat or bench shirt that is not a true lift. I believe raw is the way to go.
i wonder how much she could bench and squat without a suit. deadlift was impressive..
