Internet history cleaners....

Like said above, smash the living shit out of it! Not in half, i'm talking like bits and pieces! Nowadays, you can pick up another computer for less than $400. If you get busted and all the evidence is on you hard drive, $400 is gonna seem like pocket change compared to what your lawyer fees will be. The average lawyer for these cases charge an average of $5000-$7000. Knowing that, i think it'll be a little less painful to take a sledgehammer and beat the living shit out of your computer LOL.

P.S.----- not to mention court costs/fines which will be a pretty penny. Then, of coarse, answering to a probation officer for the next few years while he has a dog leash on you isnt really a picnic either! Just go POSTAL on your hard drive, you wont regret it.

"Just go POSTAL on your hard drive"

i wonder if that expression still makes any sense? now when i think of someone "going postal" i picture a mailman gasping for breath and then keeling over, dead from anthrax.

The above posts are correct. The police have shops on contract (and FBI) that can retrieve surprising amounts of data. If you think there is going to be a problem ( and you usually don't) remove the hard drive and do something with it. This kind of forensic data retrieval is more and more common. Do the smart thing and have a removable hard drive bay or a laptop that can be disposed of in a hurry.

Its cheap and secure

Why take a chance when a new hard drive is just like 40 dollars

Take your hard drive destory it and buy a new one.

most cleaners will only delete internet temp files and cookies not data on your hard drive and even if they would I can recover most of it.

i told you so about the formating

ive got a prog called directory snoop

its years old and will pull up data thats been erased even after a format
