I've tried insulin for bulking and it was tough to manage it then. I can only imagine how hard it is control your blood sugar the last few days before a show while dieting, and have slin in your system to worry about, too! Some people have no problems with it, some do. Do some extreme homework on it first, to make sure you know exactly how to use it, especially pre-contest. Its not like AS or even GH...slin can send you to the hospital within minutes! If you start to go hypo! Sometimes taking in carbs will help you "come down" and get back to normal...but sometimes not! Again, not to put down anyone's use of it, I take loads of AS myself. Just be careful with it and do tons of research. As some people can handle it no problem...while others can't seem to control it.
 
It's essential for a perfect carb up pre contest. I start my carb load on the Wed before the show and will continue right up to the show. You need to know how to use it and what effects it has on you. Granted on a proper carb load you're taking in a shit load of carbs. Most people don't realize the amount of carbs necessary to truly supercompensate. That's why most competitors get on stage looking flat, small, and depleted. If you've ever been supercompensated, you'll know what I mean. You feel huge and when you train, your pumps are orgasmic... ;)

So, yes, I use slin precontest for the carb up, and have all my male BB's that I help do the same.
 
I just noticed that the original poster is a woman, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a national level competitor and have lots of experience on how you respond to slin. If it's your first time with it, don't use it. Women spill over easier than men.

I have never used slin but I am a competitive bb'er. I would like to try it pre-contest, but I realize that I probably need to know how I respond to it before I just jump into it at that point. I feel like I was definitely flat at my last show. I didn't carb up very aggressively at all, I had someone helping me and he didn't have me consume much in the of carbs to load.
 
Makavelli - thanks for the advice... yes, I am a national level competitor, but I haven 't experimented with slin yet. I've heard good things about it... but also that it could be the most dangerous thing ever.... if a woman competitor came to you and asked you whether she should try slin or not, what would you tell her? Is there something else that I could do instead of it that may work just as well?
 
Try the Womans forum....jsut because we are no tthat educated about the subject when it comes to women.. Our advice is for guys....it may be greatly diferent when it comes to you.

I personally would not do slin. I used it be4 and had some side effects. As far as crashing on it.... low blood sugar level...if you are smart and follow directions you will be ok.

Once again try the womans forum...thos egirls compete and should be able to help you.

Polfa: I have been in the women's forum... yes, they are helpful there too... but I also like hearing from those in this forum who know their stuff (some have trained women, or even have wives or girlfriends who do this stuff). I've learned quite a lot since I've been in this forum.

Silent method: Sorry 'bout that... wasn't ignoring you... here's my precontest prep at 1 week out...

Mon - low carb, hi water
Tues - low carb, hi water, begin diuretics
Wed - low carb, hi water, more diuretics
Thurs - low carb, cut water off at 6pm, more diuretics
Fri - normal meals till 3pm, 4 pm 4 rice cakes with pnut butter and jelly, 6pm chicken and potatoes, 9pm steak, potatoes and cheesecake, more diuretics... and an eatmore bar every 3 hours thereafter

This has worked for me over the last two years... now I'm doin' the nationals baby!!! Just trying to see if there are any more edges for me... considered slin cuz I heard good stuff about it, but also sounds quite dangerous if the dosages are wrong...
