Insulin Spike postworkout/weekend?? Maybe not

Check out this article by Dr Ron Rosedale talking about the detrimental effects of insulin. Insulin causes bodily damage to arteries, leads to insulin resistance, obesity, Type II diabetes, degenerative diseases, and shortens lifespan. Most other animals utilize insulin/glucagon. There are studies that show that insulin shortens lifespan dramatically. Read the article before bashing it, but i'm going to start implementing the Dr's advice. One common factor in all people who lived over 100 is low blood sugar, there were no other similarities, very interesting. So perhaps the post-workout carb spike or weekend carb-load on a ckd arent the way to go.

I admit I haven't read the article yet. However it is pretty well accepted in dietetician circles that keeping your insulin levels low is a major factor in reducing morbidity/mortality in humans. As for the CKD weekend carb up..........................This is a pretty bad thing to do for your insulin sensitivity. Short term high fat/low carb diet ineveitably leads to short term insulin resistance.

It all comes down to your personal goals. Do you want maximum muscle growth in minimum time, or do you wish to live a long and healthy life?? There are no gaurantees either way, merely demographic data to support a diet low in high GI foods.
