In Search of a Backbone

I think anyone may start out enjoying the thought of training w/ someone but priorities help to weed out the wusses. The simple answer is -- "Well you know when I work out - you are more than welcome to join me when you get here." and just leave it at that.

I haven't had a training partner in so many years its ridiculous. I even got sick of workign w/ a trainer I was paying big bux to because he would slack when we agreed to do an early morning work out that required me to do some serious modification to my schedule to accomodate.

Go jump in w/ spatts and feel the POWER! :)
 
I'll make this easy for you on the steps of what you should do:

1.) Find a time that YOU are comfortable with. If it so happens that it is compatible with Spatt's, then proceed to step 2.

2.) Take Spatt's offer and work out with her......screw your other partner! You can't change or force somebody to do something. As far as i'm concerned, she's had too many chances. If she wants to go bad enough, then she'll go. Otherwise, she can go skip a rope....

3.) Spatt's offer.

4,5,6,7,8,9,10)...Take Spatt's offer.

If Spatt's lived near me, I wouldn't even think twice. I'd dump all my other partners as well. When it comes to the gym, you have to think of YOURSELF, and I know I could learn a lot from somebody like her. It's hard to find knowledgeable people to educate you on training. There's nothing but idiots where I live...well, except for me of course...:) You HAVE TO do what is best for YOU!!!!

100). If you do not get the chance to hook up with Spatt's, then do step #1 with a time that fits you best. Tell your partner that if she wants to join you, then this is the ONLY time you will be there, and if she wants, then she can meet you there at this time.

Heck, between you and me, I'd go even if Spatts DID point and laugh! But don't tell her that, 'kay?

Saw my friend tonight and gave her the news. She was fine with it. Maybe she will keep up with her workouts. I sure hope so. But now I won't have to deal with the stress of working my schedule to fit hers. Might take some stress off of her, too. She knows that it drove me nuts whenever she kept changing times. Now she won't have to call me five times a day to reschedule. :)
 
You're probably worrying about this a lot more than she is. It's probably never occurred to her how her actions affect someone else. Extend the invitation, but work out when YOU want to. If she's there, great, if not - her loss. Besides, with Spatts invitation, you'll be moving on to bigger and better things. Your old partner'll be kicking herself for not working out w/you when she had the chance!

BTW, that will be Max Effort squat/dead night, so bring some flat shoes if you have 'em, and plan to not train legs/lower back in the prior 48-72 hours.
