No need to worry. It's much easier then expected(at least it was for me). The first day you'll probably just want to sleep, the second day I felt like moving around but I forced my self to rest for 3 days before leaving the house, I was back at work on day 5. I hardly experienced any pain, basically just very tight and awkward. You'll get used to them quickly. I'm so happy I went ahead and did, I'm sure you will too! I didn't exercise at all for 2 weeks then started cycling(going easy) after 3 1/2 I started going to the gym again.

Goodluck!

Went under - threw up A LOT ALL DAY after the surgery - hurt like A BITCH for the first week or so... but the pain was quickly forgotten on the first shopping trip! hehehhehe

Hey K-ette! Don't sweat it. Did you do all your pre-op prep? Start loading your vit C, cut out the aspirin, etc that would affect clotting?

Bring a front button shirt that is baggy to wear home. Keep some oatmeal and other mushy stuff (easy to eat stuff) around for your first day or two. Probably no problems after that.

The one thing I would highly recommend is to have a comfortable spot to sleep for the first day or two -- even if its in a recliner chair. And have a couple bags of frozen peas ready to go - these are the BEST for the soreness/swelling!

Otherwise, no worries - just follow what your doc says about how high to lift your arms at what point after the operation and any other instructions. When you get the stitches out, stay out of the sun for a few months and vit E oil is supposed to be good to help w/ scar healing. Ask your doc, he/she may also have something to help w/ that. If you have lots of bruising, you can ask at your local health food / supp shop about arnica.

Good luck! The first few months are a big deal, but once you buy the new bras, the new swim suits, etc. its no big deal. Only issue I have is sleeping on my stomach. I'm a tummy sleeper and it took me 3 months before I could roll over. I still have to sleep w/ my chest propped up on my hands or something. (I had unders.)
The worst is when I got for a massage - I have to get a towel rolled up to rest my upper chest on so the girls don't get squished! And also take it easy getting back into the gym doing chest stuff -- it'll be tight for a little bit - but just take it as you are comfortable. It may take 6 months to get used to these things!

( o ) ( o ) Here's lookin at ya kid!

I went under. Everyone reacts different (sorry to hear about how you felt Bikinimom). The nurses were amazed with my recovery, soon as I woke up from the anesthetics I was smiling! I agree with Sassy69, bring a front button baggy shirt to wear home and you'll want to sleep upright(most comfortable). I highly recommend using frozen peas to keep the swelling down(get your boyfriend to keep changing them for you through the night).

I hope im like you get up and be happy people..I know in the end it will all be worth it.

Trust me, you won't want to wear an underwire for quite some time - it will be very uncomfortable. It's been a year since I had mine done, and I still don't like to wear an underwire - I wear sports bras almost exclusively now. (Before I got the implants, I used to wear nothing but underwires, and everything else felt uncomfortable to me.)

You'll probably be wrapped in ace bandage for the first 24 hours, then they will see you to remove stitches and take off the ace bandage. At that point, my doctor provided the sports bra that you have to wear for the next month or so. Also, there is the "bandera" which is a sortof ace-bandage like strap that wraps around your upper chest and velcro's in the middle. It is supposed to encourage your implants to "drop."

I had lots of pain for a long time, even though I went above the muscle. Not sure how much of it was due to the incision site - I went through the belly-button. I was very happy with the end results, though, no scarring at all. Other people go below the muscle (which is supposed to hurt more than above) and are pain free in a few days. I think it depends on the individual. But the good news is: your doctor is there to make sure you are okay. If you have lots of pain, tell him/her! They will ensure that everything is normal, and prescribe more pain meds if needed.

In a few months you will be lovin' your new look!

Take care,
Fennec

Implants are fine on bodybuilders. Many women when they diet down are left with nothing but saggy skin and nipples. Some of it looks really bad. The implants fill that in. Having a good surgeon is the key.

:bawling: oh God that describes me perfectly. My husband has gone from gently hinting to almost demanding I get implants.

Good Luck Kronkette. I'll say a prayer for you.

I think implants look 10x better on a competitor than if they do not have them..when you diet down it is sad!!! I even have implants but they shrink even more!!! I think it looks more attractive to see breasts on a woman w/ muscle than just a set of pecs...we are still WOMEN ya know!!!! No fun if you dont have tits!

Kron- u will be fine...dont get all worked up, its not a big deal and its well worth anything you go through, relax and take it easy..you will be pleased as can be soon.

cycle your chest training....(this is good for those who are not competing or for those who have a long time between competitions.)

A tried and tested strategy that works for the in-for-the-long-haul big boob wannabe.

6 weeks heavy, 6 weeks ultra light chest training. On the heavy stick to your BB diet. On the light, add about 3-400 extra carbs a day (but train the rest of the body as hard as ever.

This will

- build great pecs and keep the breasts pert. Good layer to make breast look bigger.
- Fat will deposit on the breast during the light/high carb season = Breasts !!!!

Keep cycling til breasts are required size. I have gone up two cup sizes since doing this. You can't spot reduce fat (which I disagree with, but that's another argument), but as our bums and thighs like to remind us, you can "spot" put it on.

I think implants *should* be a personal choice... me personally -- wish I would've done it 10 years ago because I have never really had anything I'd proudly display as "boobs". However, I also knew that I could afford my own and I wasn't doing it for reasons that were "flaky" or to help boost my self esteem or any of that.

If you are looking to get into competition - figure, or bb (may get in the way for fitness??) - they almost seem a must. If you train hard & diet hard, you're gonna lose whatever you had. Then you are caught in that evil spot that forever plagues female competitors -- trying to maintain that feminine look while building and cutting with almost the same goals as a male bb. THat sort of sucks. But I guess it depends on what your goals are. And I personally believe that it is a major "reality" of the industry.

So as W6 said, you can enhance what ya dont' got anymore, but a good surgeon and paying attention to what will work for you (e.g. not necessary to go for the triple E cup - just something that is aestethetically pleasing to you, fits your body proportions and is what you want. Unless your life IS competition, you should only do it to achieve the look you are going after.

Most people believe mine are real. I don't lie about it but I don't just blurt it out either because no one bothered to ask about my bust before I had it enhanced. Why should I worry about what they think now? But I did have an excellent doctor and I also got what I wanted out of it.
K- you'll be just fine. You'll probably want to die for a day or two, but the drugs take care of that, you sleep for 24 hrs and then its just annoying. And listen to the doc. If you have any questions that you are asking here and still haven't gotten answers you are satisfied w/ , ask your doc - that's what he / she & his/her staff are there for. ALso probably most of the staff has had them done too - so just make sure u ask. And when its over, its like no big deal. Just be careful the first several months - it will hurt occassionally -- just listen to your body. And also keep up the healthy eating and lifestyle so you can heal quickly!

I took down all my timea...pics
*GASP* Say it ain't so!!!!

I dunno, I've become pretty flat-chested as I've gotten down to a more athletic body composition, and I don't give a damn. I tend to prefer the look of the the itty bitty titty girls with great physiques, just because those big ole boobs interfere with the look of athleticism. Lean + conditioned=no hooters in my mind. That's obviously my own, highly individual opinion....which has not a whit to do with bodybuilding standards :D
In my perfect world, it would be about muscles and symmetry, not about boobs.

Can someone please tell me if I will gain the chest strength i have now back after I get unders? I have overs now and i am tired of the fake feel and ripples but I don't want to permenately lose my pectoral strength. I hear they cut the muscle and I have also heard you are never allowed to train really heavy again (low reps, heavy). I am hoping this isn't true. Need some real life experiences! thanks

I know some women that have gone under and still bodybuild, but most have them put over again.

They say they have 'flattened them out' from training chest heavy.

Are you planning on competing?

No I don't plan on competing anymore. Those days are past. I just want to stay strong. Here is my post:

I throw heavy hay bales, having implant surgery 10 days, need advice quick please!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am scheduled in 10 days to do a cohesive gel under the muscle breast implant surgery (I currently have saline OVER the muscle which look great but feel like hard bags of water).
My PS suggests under the muscle because it will look better.

I am still not sure about going UNDER the muscle. I know it looks and feels more natural but I not only lift heavy chest (well, heavy for me- I weigh 109 and bench 60# dumbells for reps), but I have a horse ranch and I have to throw 50# plus hay bales over my head (into the feeder or for stacking).

WILL I BE ABLE TO DO THIS AGAIN?? How long will it take if yes?
I read everyones implant posts back to 2005 but no one mentioned if they lost daily functional ability. Please help asap!

If the answer is that I will not be able to throw hay bales after 6 months, I will have to do OVER the muscle. The horse ranch is my life, I can't be weak.

I can handle not doing presses heavy I guess since my BB days are past but can't lose my lifestyle.

yikes. Please give me real life advice, the deadline approaches. Thanks girls!

PS
I had the saline implants put in 12 years ago and never regretted it. I was a AA and now I am a nice C.
