I must have missed the news article appointing Falwell to a lifetime position on the US Supreme Court.

The issue isn't what she said -- she should be able to shout that from the rooftops without fear. But what it does do is disqualify her for one of the highest political positions in our country.

If a white manager from McDonald's said that about a black/latino/woman/etc. etc., they wouldn't be able to even keep their job. So why should we be handing a SCOTUS appointment to her?
