Very sorry for you and your friends loss.

I've been dealing with high BP for a long time. I was averaging 140's over 80's/90's even on meds, then tweaked my diet ever so much and dropped to the 1 teens over 70's. I also used several different meds to help control the BP, each with different results. Each person is different but if you care to know the things I did / changed I'd be happy to pass my experiences on to you.

BPP

Life is precious bro, puts everything in prespective. When your time is up its up. How do you explain people who smoke a pack a day, they are completely miserable and they live a long life. Then you have people who haven't smoked a day in their lives and are really good people who die at a rather young age from lung cancer? Its a crap shoot. Take it day by day and do the best you can bro. My condolonces go out to ya bro. :worried:

Satch

Sounds like she had stroke from aneurism, as opposed to blockage. Most common with high BP. Stroke risk varies so much from person to person. BP rises significantly during sets of weight training, but drops quickly when set is done. It's the chronically high BP that causes strokes mainly.

My mother had a stroke 3 years ago and has left-side paralysis and is wheel chair bound. Hers was from carotid artery blockage. She was a smoker and was always a small woman, but ate whatever she wanted. Never had a weight problem. But the smoking was the biggest factor for her.

As for stopping AAS which causes increase in BP may be a good idea in the long run. You never know. Using or not using won't guarantee anything, but may decrease your risks.

But keep in mind too the potential changes in lipid profile with the use of AAS. Later in life you could be at risk for stroke due to arterial blockage and BP have nothing to do with it. You never know.

Not to be flippant, but we could get hit by a bus tomorrow. That's why we look both ways before we cross......to decrease our risk. So what you're doing may decrease your risk. Either way, I commend you on limiting your risks and keeping things in perspective. I hate it for your best friend and his mother.

i guess it comes down to risk vs. reward..

id hate to get sick/die at age 50 because of steroid abuse in my 20's/30's.
so from now on its primo and var for me...

sorry for the loss. high sbp can come from a number of things. I have seen alot of high sbp (cardiac icu RN) these can be controld with many drugs/ diet / cardio. 125 sbp is not high 120/80 is th norm and 150 sbp is not to bad eather. you can take these meds while you are on then taper when off, but is you took meds fro high sbp at 125 you would drop it (depending on dose) to below 100 this would be too low. just go by how you feel. you know your body and what it can take. again sory for loss.

I have to take meds for my BP and I am getting ready to do a test/deca/d-bol cycle. I was all excited about it till I read this. I knew before that the steroids were going to affect my bp when on ,but for some reason this thread made me a little worried.
Sorry about your friends mother. You guys will be in my prayers.

You are doing the right thing satch. ITs all about doing whats best for you. Just because some people can live long while abusing doesn't mean anything to you. You live your own life and have to live with your choices. GOod luck

High blood pressure is "the silent killer". Sorry to hear about your friend's mom. Stainless_Steel, I can tolerate deca/test but dbol sends my bp through the roof. Doesn't mean it will do yours like that but if you try that cycle keep a watch on it.
