I'll bite, what do you want from your liftoff?

I haven't really thought about this one that much because I have used the same guy my whole albeit breif career (2nd season right now). The only thought that has occurred to me in this regard is having my brother follow the weight down during decent as long as we think the judges will let us get away for. I get same problem over and over though. The weights I need to touch in my shirt are hard for me to lockout--I am working hard on lockouts to remedy this. Feds with "Start" command of course wouldn't allow the above.

My brother on the other hand prefers to have me set weight out to his normal spot and then he holds it locked out for an instant to get stable.

What do you do and why ?

I like just enough lift to break the rack and a little guidance getting the weight into the groove. After that I want the spotter to clear back just like in a meet, and only come in when I need help.

Cheers,

i like a handoff that helps take it out over my chest, and not where they jsut kind of throw it to you, i like them to let go gradually. then get out of the way so the head judge can see me pause and crush it :)

i like to have my training partner lift it off the pins for me, and help me get the bar into my starting position. from there, i take a second to let it set, take my breath, and then have at it
