...investigate and snoop around a bit? Case in point. I have reason to believe my gf has been talking to her ex. She claims she hasn't, except when he occasionally calls. I didn't believe her and checked her caller id (great invention). Low and behold, she had called him a few times and they had a lengthy conversation. When I called her out, she got pissed that I was checking up on her, claiming it was none of my buissness. Was I in the wrong?

Once you have any indication of cheating/lies/deceit, the best thing to do is Keep your mouth shut.... lay low, and give her enought string to hang her self....
You make her think you don't know whats going on, it will be easy to catch her.
By starting a fight over the phone calls you just did two things... 1- You let her know you are watching her, so now she'll me more careful.
2- You gave her a chance to start a fight and try to make you feel guilty over watching her... When cornered, women will get upset and turn shit around on you.
