ideas for lagging hamstrings?

Sled dragging is number one in my book. I have been doing a ton of it lately and it will do just about everthing from the bottom of the calves to the lower back including hams of course.

Sled dragging advantages

-Its cheap, almost free. I made mine out of a discarded tire and cheap rope

-No technique to learn really just tie a rope to a weighted sled and walk

-No chance of injury

-No spotter needed

-You wont get sore

-Its also better cardio than jogging or running

-Your neighbors will think you are a weirdo

-it wont stress your joints

I could go on and on but I got serious about it two weeks ago and drag almost every night and my legs are already better (looks and strength)

www.elitefts.com articles and its called 'Dragging your butt into shape"

Awesome workout! You can do your whole body. Personally, I think the backward ankle drag hits my hammies harder than anything else. This is a regular backward drag:

;) ;) ;)

I LOOOOOOVE SLDLs! They feel so - satisfying! (Not in a sexual way!) That might sound weird. But I get that feeling with lat exercises, too.

I might have more ham strength 'naturally' or from running. But my hams are DEFINITELY getting stronger since I've been lifting. I don't have a problem using my hams in the squat.

Spatts -- FINALLY I get to see what "sled dragging" looks like! I was picturing an actual sled (like the kids slide downhill on in the snow) with stuff piled on it!

I must say -- dragging that thing on asphalt looks like it make a lot of noise.

Holy cow!!!

What a good idea!

*looks for something to make a sled with*

got great hills around here ...

What kind of belt is that that guy has on?

Actually, in retrospect, I can't say that squats, lunges, and walking hills on the treadmill did NOTHING for my hamstrings. Once upon a time (now, NOBODY laugh!!!) I could barely do 10 lbs on the hamstring curl without cramps and "OUCH YOU'RE HURTING ME!" pain. Now I can do 35, so I must have accomplished SOMETHING.

Nowhere near what you people can do I'll bet.

Okay, so I did sldl's tonight and I think I used good form. I concentrated on not going down too far squeezing my hams. We'll see tomorrow :)

thanks for all the replies
