What do you all think is the ideal ammount of protein and dextrose to take postworkout? I usually take about 40g protein and 50g dextrose. :confused:
 
I'm kinda curious about teh dextrose ... as for protein, one of the smartest biochemists I've ever known, supposedly even does research for met-rx, told me anything over 20 g's post workout is a waste... Whey is cheap enough to where i'm not worried about wasting, I usually put about 30 g's in my shake. more dextrose quantity numbers.... how much is NECESSARY to induce a sufficient insulin

ZKaudio, that's interesting. Has he published any of his findings or told you by word of mouth? I would like to read a little more on what he thinks. That's the first I heard that 20g is all you need
 
the ratio of carbs : protein in a p/w shake is usually 2 : 1
depending on your size and the intensity of your workouts
somewhere between 50-100g carbs unless you're doing monster workout or weight more then you can probably go upto 150/200g carbs
