Not true...I've had another cop pass me on by even after I told him I'd had a couple of beers.
I think the long and short of it is that if this guy had been more used to running a checkpoint, he'd have never asked me to get out.
And, I look at it like this: I could have told him I hadn't been drinking, but if by some odd circumstance something DID show up on the breathalyzer, then I'm lying, and that makes things worse. Or, if they think I'm under the influence of a narcotic, then I don't get the breathalyzer, I get a blood test.
I wasn't all that mad about it at the time, and I'm still not...the guys were doing their job, and I'm not coordinated enough to pass the FST. So...such is life. No ticket, no fine, just the loss of about 15-20 minutes.
