My youngest son the one that we had the birthday party for over the weekend,he's been sick for a few months. He's tons better than he was but still has somethings wrong. They believe he has one of 2 things wrong one is juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and the other is ruematic fever. We too him to the Children's Hospital in Columbus Oh on the 1st of July and have to back on the 3rd of August with hopefully the diagnosis. I have to take him Thursday the 27th to a pediatric cardioligist to make sure he has no heart damage.

If it's the first he will be on neprexon for ever unless he outgrows it on top of the meds he will have to have blood work once a month to check his liver ect.

If the second he will be on neprexon that's he's on now and penicillin until he's in his early 20's, he only 10 now.

If you are a praying person they would be appreciated. If not good thoughts are very welcomed. Thanks for listening.

Keep your head up. I hate it when kids are sick. At work, I see a lot of very very sick kids. docs at those specialty children's hospitals have been known to do amazing things.Stay positive. I will keep u in my prayers.

i know the feeling sweetie..my 4 month old has medical probs...my prayers are with you!

This hit us out of the blue. He has always been a very healthy child, very active and happy. He has allergies but then again who doesn't ya know. But one day he woke up and could really move. He cried all the time b/c he was in constant pain, wet to bed b/c he couldn't get up,no otc pain meds worked. The doctor's said nothing was wrong with him and basically said he was trying to get attention from me. Fu**ers!!!! Then finally I bolistic at the er screaming at the dr when they came in saying we have found nothing. SO they dug further to shut me up and found his sedrate which is how they measure the swelling in the body was really high. The normal is 0 - 10 his was 110 and that was on the down side of his flare up. Finally the ball started rolling. Not to mention I got a ton of appologies for the ignorant hillbilly answers I got from them. GRRRRR!!! NOw we are seeing specialists along with his regular dr. The bad thing is that I have to go 4 hrs away to see the specialist. OY! But he's so worth it.

He had his regular dr appt last week. This week is the cardioligist about 45 min away no biggie. Then next week is the other in Columbus.

They said if it's the fever then the joint pain will go away completely but it hasn't. His feet hurt daily as does his legs right around his hips. He told me Saturday when we to get some last minute things for his cook out/party that he has just learned to live with the pain b/c it hurts all the time. Almost made me cry. I personally think it's the JRA but who really knows. Hopefully we will know for sure next week.
