thx man..

i got some more questions for y'all...

do you take any supplements?
none are required for westside although its recomended to take in 1 gram protein per lb
do you guys do any cardio?
None is needed

what's a board press?
exercise index www.elitefts.com
what's a reverse hyper?
see the site
one arm press - is this one arm db military press for the delts?
Isn't needed cause of all the benching

what's the floor press?
see the index but basily benchig while lying on the floor

hey man ok answers
1. I don't take any all I take in now is about 3,500-4,000 cals/daily that's my supplement.
2.C A R D I O what's that.......(this should answer that question), but I try and keep up with my boxing once a week, when I can.
3. a board press is like benching but with boards on your chest, you bring the weight down to the board pause it real quick and press. Most guys will use a 2, 3, and 4 board press as ME excercise and a 5 board press as an extra. You get for a 2 board press 2 pieces of 2X6X12inches and put them together then lay them on your chest with someone holding them down and perform the move.
4. a rev hyper is a machine that was designed to work the glutes, hams, and low back. if u do a search on here you'll find a pic of one or just go to www.elitefts.com and you'll find it on there.
5.not sure bout one arm press
6. floor press is like benching upset your laying on the floor with your legs out so you don't use a leg drive and on this ME excercise you pause the weight like a normal bench.

And like my lil bro said Glad u gave up those pageants and are gonna enter real meets, hopefully.

I'm kinda new to the powerlifting thing too. I have worked out off and on for about 4 years I guess. Never did it really hard just kinda something I enjoyed doing. I'm not training for powerlifting. I do do some BB sype stuff for the simple fact that when I take my shirt off this summer I will have a decent looking body. That may be holding me bcak some but I'm willing to sacrafise that right now. Some of the stuff they talk about on here I don't understand. Alot of it is still totally new. If you stick around here you will learn alot of stuff. Powerlifting its about gaining size but pure stregenth. If you here something that sounds crazy, it probably works. These guys wouldn't do it if it didn't work!! Anyway, its is a really fun sprot. I competed in my first meet almost a month ago and loved it. Can't wail till another one!!

cubanito.. thx for all the answers man.. i have to admit.. i didn't even know there was an index.. and haven't used the search yet.. i just really haven't had time.. and have been lazy when i did...

grantsdu.. thx for the reply.. i'm sorta like you too.. as i still want to take off my shirt and look good.. but i'm also getting married and that mindset is slowly fading... but i may also have to sacrifice some strength gains in the beginning.. until i can either find a happy medium.. or give up the gotta look ripped in the summer mindset...

as for all these exercises.. and the sport in general.. i think i might be fucked.. there's some crazy ass exercises.. i was planning on doing everything in the gym in my barn... i've got the basics.. squat rack, bench, leg ext/curl, pull up bar, weights to 400 and db's to 80lb (i'm getting bigger ones).. and soon to be a treadmill... will i be able to work around some of the exercises/techniques using what i have.. and maybe somedays not even having a training partner (besides my 105lb wife.. that can't lift 20lbs...)???

for index, I guess the earlier posts were referring to elitefts.com, then go to "ask dave" then "exercise index" - there is a short explanation of exercises with some pics.

as for your gym - if you have a power rack, a bench, and a bar, you've got enough to lift.

Man, that sounds like enough stuff to lift with. I lift on some homemade stuff. Well we have a homemade bench and preacher seat. If you can do the basic exerciese(bench, squat and deads you are fine. don't mane the same mistake I did and not work legs...big mistake. You have to do them to gain any massave amounts of size and strgenth. Don't rush yourself, it will all come with time. Just keep trying to learn new things from the guys that have been at a while. They will generally help you out alot.
