Is something wrong with the new mustangs? I liked the retro styling on those when I first saw them. Do they suck? I like old Vettes, like '65-'69 lots.

actually there were two different body styles between '65-'69

'63 through '67 and '68 through '82

Why is that a problem?

Cannibalism. Because why would someone pay more for a car that offers about the same on paper ? Of course the Vette has a better handling but the Camaro is 2+2 and anyway, most folks buy these as a straight line rocket. They could care less about its ability on a circuit. GM had a very hard time keeping both the Vette and Camaro in their line-up at the end. Only reason they're bringing the Camaro back is because Ford and Daimler Chrysler brought the retro style back first (Mustang, 300C, Charger and soon the Challenger).

I don't see the Camaro being too much competition for peeps that are in the market for a Vette even if they share much of the drivetrain.

The Camaro will be introduced as always to compete with the Mustang.

I actually have to agree. The Camaro went away not because it cut at Vette sales, but its own sales were pathetic. They needed a total restyle for it to have a chance at being successful again. I think they might just have something here.

HR, the problem with the new Mustang.....It's still a Ford. ;)
