i don't think so joey...the box should be slightly below parellel...no way you should be able to do twice max...most peeps i know box only slightly more than regulard

are you joking? i dont know how you do box squats
but i get 60-70 lbs carry over to my free squat using the same equipment..
some get more some get less
 
wnt2b, you are such a pussy!! J/K bro!! YOu can't complain that you missed 605 when you hit 585. Good job, 605+ will come some day... I myself am still waiting for that day to come

i think i did 605 i my dreams once....in any event, nice job with the 585. you must have some serious trunks for legs. how much do you weigh?

then the box you used was too high.
no way are box squats "sissy".
use a 12" box next time and go down till you're sitting on it and get back to us about how 'sissy' it is.

I thought the box was the cage. There is a box involved also?

you can use a bench but i have an adjustable "box" so i can change the height to suit whatever im doing..
anyway bsaically you want a box thats at para or below..
set your squat stance sit on and PAUSE (thats the big thing is to make sure to pause) on the box releasing te hip flexors but keep the abs tight then reflex off the box..

the pause is the whole key..it makes a squat harder that is how you get carry over to a free squat..if you just touch the box the only thing you did was mark how low you went
