I need some Gut-b-gone

I've been trying to get rid of my gut for months now, I went from a nearly 37 inch waist to wearing 32 comfortably. However I've still got that pudge. I've tried continuing my diet for several weeks but alas there was no more improvement than the 4 inches I lost. I pretty much burned out on the diet which was a low calorie/fat type diet, I was on that for about 5 straight months. It worked well in general I guess but now I'm trying to build some muscle and dieting doesn't help in that area.

To get to the point here, my leg muscles lack as well as my chest, if I were to build some good mass in those two areas and then try the diet again would it be easier to lose the rest of that pudge? I do plenty of ab exercises so I'm ok there.

Yes, adding muscle will increase your metabolism and make losing fat easier.

I think its very hard to lose fat and build muslce. Thats why you see some of the pros in the off-season and they have balooned up like thanksgiving day parade floats. If you want to put on some leg and chest size, i would say dont worry to much about the gut at the moment. Afterall, you DID lose 4 inches with is really good [better than what a lot of people can do] so you know you can do it again. Plus, i am told that the more muscle you have, the more energy your body using even while resting. So, if you do put on more muscle, i imagine it will be even easier to take off the pudge later.

Good luck with that.
