I need carbs

where should I get them from? what type of food?

I need it so I can play basketball and lift weights..

I dont want too much but a moderate amount where I can still lose some fat.

should I just eat sandwiches or what?
 
IMO, Best carb choices are:

Veggies (brocolli, beans, greens)
Yams
Barley
Oatmeal
Sweet Potato
Rye+Pumpernickel Bread
Low GI Fruit (Apples, Grapefruit etc)

THese are great choices at any time other than post workout as they are all low GI


Post workout get some High GI carbs such as:

Glucose
Dextrose+Maltodextrin

oh man does anyone have any good recipes for oat meal? I just tried eating like 4 spoons and I dont kno how i made it so far.. its fuckin naaassttty.

I put cup and a half of oatmeal in this bowl, then I added 1 1/2 cup of water and some salt, threw it in the microwave and it came out to be one of the worst tasting things i've ever eaten.
