i just recently discovered leg workouts

if it burns, then its good.
if you are doing more than your weight, that is good in my book. guys do multiples of their weight, I have no idea for women though since they go for a different type of muscular development.

Dont worry about how many lbs..you are pressing - use good form and concentrate on the muscles you are working..gradually move up in weight as it gets easier..It wont take you long..I started out w/just 1plate(45#) on each side a year ago and Im up to 5 on e/side now..Good luck

yes, 140 is good. you will see the amt of weight you can handle will go up quickly with legs.

ms smallmovesal

just a tip.
dont lock out on the leg press and dont allow your lower back to begin to come off the pad. most people lock out to rest, do the work and rest when you finish your set. (just protectin your joints and back dear);)

enjoy

merci

i'm afraid of the smith machine but i will attempt it if i can find someone kind enough to show it to me.

i did arms and cardio today... why can't that shapely swelling stay? they look so good that way. :(

I don't think it's pathetic ... it depends on what your goals are ... if you want size ... then you may want to go heavy .. but if you want leg endurance .... more reps are better :D

you've...never.....done....legs??

lol im just messin' with ya

Yes, I know the feeling of a real good leg workout. The next few days after, my legs are so sore that it feels like I forgot how to walk:(

oh well, good luck with them workouts....and yeah 140 is good if your just starting off....you'll increase weight really quick

sweeet! i always try to see how heavy i can go with stuff. how many times a week should i do legs? i've been bad about doing splits... i should really start doing that. i usually do arms/shoulders and back (somewhat) twice a week.

what about chest....its kindof necessary (somewhat) ;)

legs you can do 2x a week if you are recovering fully before you start again. every 4-7 days for sure.

well i do shoulder presses and they end up getting that region too... i don't wanna go overboard on them, burning off what little assets i have ;)

i have to start doing squats and/or lunges.. i can do those with dumbells at home right? should i have a day devoted to the ass? :D

hey smallmovesal, i wouldnt work my legs until its totally recuperated if youre just starting. and incorporate working the ''ass'' on your leg days. and give the lunges a try on the smith machine, youll love the burn...;) ;) ;)

if that is in reference to chest - I think we all know that site stimulation is not going to burn off fat - otherwise a six pack would be much easier.
if you build up your pectoral muscles and especially the upper/inner wall of them, you will actually have enhanced cleavage.
lord knows I do.

i've been trying to do leg extensions but usually my legs are exhausted from the leg press by the time i get to them and they hurt my knees. i also do hamstring curls. i'm going to try lunges at the smith machine today though, too. :)

ok and i'll do pecs...

Small you go girl:) Nothing like a hard and intense leg workout. Start nice and slow and dont be afraid to lift heavy, you'd be surprised how much girl can lift. And for that bubble butt, do lots of squats and lunges, squeezeeeeee those glutes as hard as you can, when you arent at the Gym.
If you are having difficulties with training your legs on the same day, why dont you try splitting leg workout. Hams on Monday in and quads on Wednesday..........or whatever you prefer. Then once a week do Butt shaping workout only.
Its amazing what you can do with those strong shapely legs:cool: Your b/f will love you even more;)

straight legged dead lift
(or stiff legged)

they are great, but start off with less weight until you get used to the. you can either use DBs or a BB - but make sure you keep your back flat.
they mainly work your lower back, hams, and your grip.
