Whats wrong with a chicken and a pitcher of beer???

Alcohol depletes the body of nutrients as it acts as a diuretic. Not good. Also, beer provide carbonation, which affects the oxygen capacity of cells. Overall, empty calories.

I'm thinking the same thing...lol. It is good to kick back and forget everything every once in a while...

I don't drink much anyway, but why would you drink right after you workout

How many of you, after a grueling workout that almost made you puke, would want to drink beer? Maybe an hour after...

arnold was a mental warrior too, his pyschological "games" etc helped him aswell. No discredit to him, but if i went to "exggerate" my routines etc etc, it would put mental stress on my friends, which could cause them conflict. But hey, no worries. Anyone think perhaps this could be a good thought???

There isn't much I want to do RIGHT after a workout... but by the time I get home I am freeking STARVING and can usually down a meal or protein shake and then the other about an hour or so later. :)

As for beer being empty calories... I suppose... if you want to start on THAT arguement... not a big drinker of it... but I do find it stimulating from time to time.

I've got the new and old version of hte book, while you dont want to follow the number of sets he outlines, it still is great reference material, and the pics of bodybuilders when they still looked good is worth it on its own

Yeah i agree. I suppose the advanced workouts he has included are for the real pro bodybuilders. The ones with no jobs and stuff coz alot of them train for more than 2 hours a day with awesome intensity.
But if you were at that stage then some of the advanced programs and ideas may be useful perhaps.

I just recently got this book and it's great. Not so much for the routines, but rather for the pictures of exercises, and of course pictures of the pros.

It really helped me understand which muscles are which and how exercises utilize different muscles.

The exercise pictures and descriptions also helped me realize some poor form on some of my exercises.

I also liked the summaries of differing training techiques (supersetting et al) as some of them I either had never heard of or wasn't sure exactly how they were done.

Overall, a fun and informative read. Just my .02 cents

I have two books of the new version. One from my mom a few years back and one from my last girl. Sadly enough, i have never read it. I rather like looking at the pictures and imaging which of the mass monsters i will look like eventually. But never read too much about it.

Arnold is the man though!
