HST deconditioning phase?

Read their website. Deconditioning means taking a complete break from training. I think they recommend 10 - 14 days.

I'm not doing HST, but I have a few questions about what HST recommends for the deconditioning phase...I'm doing something similar to HST but with much more volume (most days) and I incorporate a lot of other things (statics, partial reps, supersets, slowass negatives, explosive positives, drop sets--not everyworkout, I all these up every workout), seems to be working well...

How long is the deconditioning phase?

During this phase, are weights less and workouts overall less intense?

Anything else important about this phase?

HST advises 9-12 days of SD, but I'm not sure why Bryan picked that number. Discussion has been raised on the HST board over this very issue. Still being debated. Waiting for more input.

There is no training during SD.

Also, HST is not low-volume, honestly. It tends to be low in the number of sets in practice for most people, but you can increase the number of sets to a high level, *so long as your CNS can recover well enough for the next session*. It's not low-volume by universal design. It's meant to be tailored.
