how to plan an indulgence?

I'm currently on a 1,800 kcal a day diet.. I try to eat VERY healthy food so that I can have a lot of it.. I am hoping this will give me a ~500 kcal a day deficit. Tommorrow is my sister's birthday, and the family is going out to The Old Spaghetti Factory. I love that place.. especially its mezithra cheese dish.. tons of cheese, butter, and pasta! yummm. I am willing to minimize the damage by eating a smaller portion than normal, but I am definetly going to indulge and it's going to be a whopping lot of calories. Should I cut back the rest of my calories for the day (or throughout the week) to compensate? I am nervous doing that because my nutrition is going to be pitiful if I do that. Would it be better if I just accepted that my fat loss will be slowed because of this indulgence?

While I can stick to a pretty saint-like plan regularly, I'm not going to stick to it for the rest of my life. I need a way to deal well with those inevitable indulgences. Thanks :)

Take aday and have a good meal for your sisters B-Day just make sure you Go back to eating proper tomorrow.

It will sit you back maybe one or two days. Just keep your meals going right but lower your carb's tomorrow to make up for all the carb's from the pasta. No need to lower Cal's all week just workout a little harder and do your Cardio. Enjoy

PS: Happy B-day to you Sister:bday:

When I do a cheat meal, instead of eating 5 meals prior to it as I normally would (considering Im going out) I just eat 1 or 2 meals of the diet, and the third will be that huge pasta dish. It should make up for the cals and you shouldnt go above your AMR. As murman said, its one step back 2 steps forward.

thanks.. i'm gonna compromise.. eat a little less.. especially carbs during the day.. then indulge and expect not to lose that one pound this week :)
