How to gain weight?

yokosi

New member
Hi everyone, i was just wondering if anyone has any ideas or supplements to take to gain some weight. Im around 5"11 at 135 lbs right now. I have taken mamoth 2500 weight gainer and a couple others and it does nothing. I started at the gym last year and i went for 7 months and I haven't noticed anything different and i was taking creatine before and after workouts and protein 3 times a day (once after workout). I think i have tried everything and nothing works. All of this info on how to do work out and take supplements have been told by trainers and other body builders. I know everyone tells me to eat and I do eat like a pig and I still can't gain anything. Someone told me to use mega mass elite weight gainer, has anyone evr heard of this and does it actually work. I haven't also not been working out since the summer and im going to try to go back in 2 weeks again and I really don't feel like going back and not seeing any improvments. Help would be greatly appreciated, thanx everyone :)

I'm not going to tell you to do a cycle like alto of people would. It sounds like you have tried acouple of good ways, but you might just have a really high metabolism. But to reiterate you must eat, and if you can i reccomend the weight gainer shakes for you, and you must lift and do it religously, unfortunetly it can take time, but if you stick to a good eating program and lifting regiman i can't see why you wouldn't gain with the frame you have, just be patient and persistant bro...good luck

take like a 1000 calories of weight gainer morning.....afternoon....and before bed. and eat like crazy every three hours during the day in the meanwhile. fast food...whatever. throw some more protein powder in with the WG and the real food as well. eat a lot of flax oil too. just boatload in the calories. worked for me once when i had lost a lot of weight and just wanted to get back to a certain weight no matter what the gain quality was. i was taking mega mass 4000...not that it really matters, lol. all the same shit. oh and working out helps too of course. :D

If you want to gain weight just make sure you are never hungry. Constantly eat during the day and you'll gain weight. Also take some weight gainer like warbird said, and you'll be well on your way.

its very simple 8,000 calories per day and its scientifically impossible not to get bigger, cut back to normal oncen you hit a goals weight 12-15 pounds above current, and youw ill lose alot of the fat, its not fun but if you wnat it their is no easy way out

yokosi, i have the same problem. i recently started working out with a guy here in town, who has shown me the proper way to work out and even tells me exactly how to eat(no he's not a personal trainer just a really close friend). i'm 5'10 now 144lbs. i've gained 10lbs in the past month all natural. i just recently started my first cycle of test and d-bol, but what i did differently this time to gain the 10lbs was i started eating 3500 calories a day mostly protein and a little carbs, and i worked out religously everyday. if u want more info on my workouts and eating habits feel free to pm me anytime. i plan on being at about 160 by february at the end of my cycle.

You are going to have to force yourself to eat more. You may "think" you are eating alot, but my guess is that if you were to track a dietary log for a week you would come up with some subpar results. Try tracking your meals (each and every one) what time, how much, what the macronutrient breakdown was, and add them up at the end of the day. When you see what you are getting then you can make the necessary adjustments to increase to an adequate level for growth.

Just keep eating and busting your ass in the gym.. Remember good things come with time... Keep working and be patient.

Eat till you're full...then eat some more. I have to force myself to eat sometimes. I may not be hungry, but I know I need more calories to grow. Sounds like you shouldn't worry about fat so I'd satrt with a big serving of weight gainer with whole milk first thing in the morning and just before bed and be sure to put down 500-750 cal every 2-3 hours between. You might need to set a few goals for yourself to make sure you eat enough. Things like 6 whole eggs every day, 1lb of chicken every day, 1 gallon of whole milk every day, 1lb of whole wheat pasta every day...you get the idea :D I'd also hope you're doing very little cardio work.

Good luck and eat your face off!

I agree... making sure you're never hungry doesn't do much for me... I MIGHT get 2500 cals a day that way... I'm FINALLY actually counting calories right now, and getting 4k/day is PAINFUL, but as anyone on here who's in the know will tell you, the ONLY way to get big is to EAT (and sleep) you can take all the steroids in the world, but if you're not eating a shitload, you ain't gonna blow up!

eating is the hardest part of building muscle IMHO.

I've been there. You think you are eating a lot... but you are not. Oh no. Clearly, if you are not gaining any weight, even fat, then you aren't eating enough to gain muscle. And it may be possible that you are overtraining. Force feed yourself until you learn to stomach like 5,000 cals, 300g protein. If that does not work (and it damn well better) then try lowering the volume of your training, and increasing intensity.

let me see your food journal , you dont have one? then you are just being a slackass their is no excuse. don;t try to use steroids to make up for your laziness this is not a flame jsut a fact, he said he has gianed 10 pounds naturally, thats not shit I ma sorry but look at the facts 3500 calories, i eat that for breakfast easy, my bodyfat is 10% right now and i will bulk up and be down to 6% come springtime

I had the same problem as you, I worked out like hell every day for 4 months and ate a lot but I wasn't gaining weight. I did get a big leaner though. Then in September I started eating much more and pushing myself like never before on my workouts. I now eat until I'm ashamed of myself, which seems to work for me. I used weight gainer and creatine for a while which definitely helped me gain weight, but even after I finished with them I was still making big gains.

If you think you're eating a lot, try eating more. Keep up the protein shakes, but don't use them to replace meals. Remember they're a supplement, so you should be eating the lights out as well. If you think you're lifting hard, lift harder. I'm rarely satisfied when I leave the gym because I think I could have pushed myself harder. I just go back the next day and try to get a better workout. Just don't be satisfied until you start achieving your goals.

If you're eating and lifting like an animal, there's no way you won't gain weight. If you're still moving slowly, try throwing in some creatine, it will definitely help.

Eat junk food, and a lot of eat. Eat what you like, what taste good to you, don't overeat, but try to eat often, it's better to eat 8 small meals then 4 big ones.

8,00 calories if you dirnk 2 gallons of milk a day thats a start shoto fora jar of peanut butter as well, i am ashamed by the laziness, you don;t have a food journal do you>?????

wow thanx everyone for all of the replies, i never knew i would get so many. I guess im going to have to try harder than i have before. I guess im not eating enough and I used to take weight gainer and it never did anything to me. Do u guys recommend anything that works, i know a guy thats selling mega mass elite, is this good? I think im going to try to eat more, I have taken alot of protein and gainers in the past and i shit all freaken day, its annoying b/c i have school and shit. When I also take it im kind of full and i can't eat much afterwards. Anyone thanx alot guys for all of the replies, I appreciate it

As a hard-gainer like you bro I am going to chime in here as well...

No one has really touched on what to do other than 'eating' constantly and a lot of it. What you also need to be wary of is keeping your activity levels LOW LOW LOW LOW. You are clearly a hard-gainer ectomorph and you need to eat eat eat, then workout infrequently and intensly and sleep lots. Become lazy. Don't walk, drive. Don't dance around and get excited with your frriends and run around the neighborhood. Sit in the damn recliner and watch movies and slug around the house all day. Trust me. I tried to gain weight a while back when I was playing one (yes just one) soccer game a week and I found it very difficult. Good luck man!

thanx man, i'll try but I hate being so lazy I like to be active, we'll i gues i should start to be a couch potato. Anyway how will I know if im eating enough calories or protein a day. My daily routine is usually 2 or 3 eggs and 3 slices of bacon in the morning and yes i drench the bacon oil in my eggs, i eat this 3-4 days a week on the other days it's cereal or waffles, etc with a couple glasses of milk, for lunch i eat a plate of pasta with a bit of meat, but mostly just the pasta and dinner the same but much much more than lunch and also some meat, well until im full anyway. Is this enough, i think im gonig to start eating a plate of pasta before i go to sleep, do you think this is ok or are both diets very low and too little to gain. Thanx again :D

Don't take this the wrong way but it sounds as if you have no structure in your diet. First of all you need to spend some time researching and learning about diets and bodybuilding and see what looks right for you. I can sit here and tell you to do X diet but the truth is there is more than one way to skin a cat. If what you are doing is not working, you need to do something else. If you REALLY CAN'T GAIN WEIGHT. Then you need to track every damn calorie you are eating starting now! Up it by 500 calories per day then stick with that for a week. If you are not gaining atleast 1-2 pounds then up it again and repeat. You need to eat atleast 6 times per day. No bullshit. Do it! No excuses. Spend an hour each week preparing 'to go' meals if you feel like you can't eat at work or it requires to much time or whatever. You must have discipline. That is all I can tell you.

Okay first of all you dont need to eat 8000 calories to gain weight, thats just rediculous for someone not on gear. I started at 145 being 6'3 I basically just ate til I couldnt possibly eat anymore, which came to about 5000 calories a day, my guess is that your currently only getting around 3000 a day. Eating 5000 calories a day brought me up to 200 lbs pretty fast, actually a lot faster than i wanted, i got the stretch marks to prove that. Just eat a lot of food like steaks and chicken, and lots of potatoes. Weight gainer is fine if your busy with work and school, but otherwise you'll save money just eating regular foods and you wont get all the sugar thats in weight gainers. If I were you I would make a diet, and start the cal intake at 4500, count the calories to make sure, and eat the same thing every single day. I know its terrible but u just gotta suck it up and dont be a bitch. Its all about commitment, eat, lift and sleep should be your top priorities.

you are 5'10" 144lbs and doing steroids after a month of learning how to eat and train properly. don't mean to be a dick, but you're the last person on this board who needs to be giving anyone advice. i started out at your height and weight and put on 45lbs with diet and training. you're gonna hit 160 on your cycle, come off of it, and maybe end up at 150lbs. you could've gotten to 150 with another month of training and eating. 180-190 in a year and a half. waste of money and stress on your liver.

Have you been to the doc to make sure you dont have an overactive thyroid or diabetes?

You don't need wieght gainer. Go to Protein Faactory or Proteincustomizer and order 20 pounds of a good mix with at least 25-35% of it being high quality whey. (i would suggest that you make sure about 30% is slow digesting too) Mix that with full fat milk, or even better chocolate milk.

From reading your diet, you need to eat more and you need some more structure to your diet. Eating what seems to be alot isn't enough. You MUST eat every 2.5-3 hours and you have to make sure that you are getting the right macro nutrients at the right time.

BTW: "My daily routine is usually 2 or 3 eggs and 3 slices of bacon in the morning and yes i drench the bacon oil in my eggs, i eat this 3-4 days a week on the other days it's cereal or waffles, etc with a couple glasses of milk"

Isn't goin to cut it. Try more like 4-6 full eggs (not just the whites), 1/2 a pound of bacon (as terrible as that is, i still like it once in a while), 1/2 cup to a full cup of oats, 1 1/2 quarts of milk.

Eat like that 3 times a day and add in 3-4 shakes with about 50-75 grams of protein each (with the milk). Add one more after you workout, preferably mostly whey and approximately 20-40 grams of dextrose.

Basically, you are not getting the calories in to grow.

If you want to be big, you need to eat big.

Maybe you should try to drink plenty of Full Cream Milk with your weight gainer.

You should try and drink about 3 litres of milk per day with your weight gainer powder.

Also eat plenty of nut's and food's high in unsaturated fats

Good Luck

Wrap your body in gauze and sit in a warm tub all day long and only move to get food or workout. Spend twenty bucks on a little red wagon and have someone pull you around stores and shit to ensure not to burn any extra cals.

All above advice is good also.

Your diet really sounds like shit yokosi. You need alot more food/protien than what your currently consuming. Everyone seems to be suggesting milk with the weight gainer. For me weight gainer+milk=laxative, and youre just wasting your money if you just shit it out an hour later. If you have this problem Id stick with the water and drink the milk some other time. That skinny bastard diet on testosterone.com helped me out alot. You dont have to follow it to a T, but the fundamentals its trying to convey are right on.

Here....

Check out www.musclenow.com . It's the program I use, and it make the nutrition part and basic training stuff simple to follow.

I'm still getting results off it.

If you eat the wrong way, you'll just pack on fat, not lean mass.

Yep your food is wrong, how about your training?? Do you bench and curl 4 times a week?? Do you lift more than an hour? Do you rest at least 8 hours? Do you take your training programs from Flex magazine?? Not trying to flame, but trust me for us folks with bad genetics training and resting is just as important as nutrition.

Besides all the nutrition solutions...

one more thing to keep in mind.

Learn how to deadlift/squat/bench/
maybe some bent over barbell rows and barbell curls

Do religiously and you will make better gains then doing forearm curls...
