I mostly use frozen broccoli.... due to cost & cuz it just lasts longer.....

I get a plastic bowl, put the broccoli in & pour a little broth over it then microwave it. I use a pair of kitchen shears to cut it up into little pieces & will mix with peppers, mushrooms, etc & use in a variety of dishes....

Spices are your friend!! Mrs. Dash makes a good variety of flavors.

Sounds real good jenscat but I would be careful if you are cooking in the microwave with plastic - something I heard about the plastic molecules mixing in with your food, just something you might want to ask around about.

Yep, I heard that too....but they were talking about heating things up in the plastic type of containers that butter/margarine/ricotta cheese, etc come in -- they are not meant for heating & melt when heated.... (well, if it's the same article)

The stuff I have is the Tupperware, etc brand....meant to be heated...

I just steam or microwave the little guys and top with a tiny bit of this 0 calorie syrup I have. Sugar free syrup would work just as well i assume. Makes the taste very sweet and actually makes me look forward to the broccoli. Now cauliflower on the other hand is the food of the gods and I only eat that stuff plain.

what you gotta do is add your spices to the "steamed" broccoli.

here we got some garlic, and "BAM" we add the garlic!

I learned that from Emeril. Dude is one hell of a powerlifter in his spare time.
