How often do you DeadLift ?

well after reading that it should only be done bi weekly I'm thinking of doing that, just once every two weeks having one day strictly for deads, both regular and stiff.

how often do you deadlift? i have always been doing them once a week

well, if you're talking about conventional deads (from the floor), i do them almost every week. so in general in deadlift once a week. once in a while i'll replace it for bent over rows but in general, once a week. although i'm starting to get the feeling that may be too taxing for me, since i tend to go all out when i'm doing deads.

yeah i'm talking full deads off the floor, those are what i do 90% of the time. Once in a great while ill do some rack deads, and sometimes some light stiffies after regular deads. I'm basically just looking for everybodies inclusion of deads, wether theyre full, stiffies, or racks, into their program

gman, refresh my memory...you do these in what rep range? What % of max? In other words, are you powerlifting, 5x5, BB?

yes deads every week have been great. adding thickness and width and i would hate to have to cut down but it is this thread that has me thinking

i've read the thread as well. lately, my lower back is feeling a little tight for a couple days after i dead as well (i maintain good form though). i'd like some advice on this as well. i'm using deads as my 5x5 exercise, maybe this is too much? spatts (or anyone else), what would you advise, rep/set-wise?

i started doing deads in november i think, and had been doing 5x5 up until the past few times i've done them. Now i've been aiming for 8 reps and doing 4 sets, but i think i like the 5x5 better. I just did that to switch it up though and see how my body would react to higher reps.

i go pretty heavy, not 1rep maxes, but on my last or second to last set i use weight wear i can only pull 3 or 4 reps.
