I do 130's for Incline Press no problemo. :) 140's coming this week!

In the Golden age of Muscle Beach back in the '30s and '40s... the maxim was:

"When you can do the incline dumbell press with 100s - you're strong."

Polish,

is that you dunking in that avatar? If so, I must say, I am beyond impressed that a person who is thin enough to dunk can incline dumbell press 130's. That is astounding.

I don't honestly know if I can do that, having never tried it, and I have benched over 500 lbs in a shirt.

How do you guys even get the 130's or so into position to bench with them? I have never figured that one out.

I have done flat bench dumbell presses with 110's for 17 reps, but have not tried this for over 6 months, so have no idea what I can do currently, but I must say, whenever I get this heavy on dumbells I have much more trouble wrestling them into position to bench them than I do actually pressing them.

Oh, and I am 28 years old, been training pretty consistently for 10 years, been powerlifting a little over a year and a half.

Benchmonster,
Thanx for the compliment man! Yes that is definitely me :) over the summer. I play once or twice a week now and I am just maintaining now (hoops wise). I can still hop @ my current weight like I did in the pic (220). Big difference when someone can run a 4.6, hop over 40+ and weigh 240. lol Get the fuc* out of the way. :) I seem to see more people moving these days.

I take those dumbells and line them up on the floor shoulder width apart. I squat down and basically grab them and do an ATF squat and get them up at my sides. I sit on the incline bench @ this point and place the dumbells facing the ceiling on top of my thigh. I rock forward than backward and thrust up with my thighs to propel the db's up to starting position. I definitely did practice this shit with lighter weights to get used to it. I don't have a partner anymore bc mine "doesnt have the same goals or motivation as me" lol so I have to do anything I can to get ahead.

I am definitely a 6'-3" 240-245 guy that still looks thin. lol I think once I reach 300, if and when. Then I might fill my frame out. Until then, its more effort and agony. Agony I enjoy and need. :)

150 lbs dumbells for 8-10 reps for 2 sets, Incline, 150's as well but from 6-8 reps for 2 sets. I would go higher but the gym only has the 150's.

hey Polish,

no dis meant on the "thin" thing. you are a very big fella, and obviously very athletic too. You are far from thin to most people, and are a beast compared to 99% of the world.

I only meant thin in relation to a fire plug like me. I weigh almost as much as you do (235) and am only five seven and a half to be exact. Can't run or jump like you either. I am envious.

I don't have a 40 inch vertical (wow!) but can jump onto a 40 inch box with both feet. You guys that are strong and can run and jump are amazing.

Why are you not a professional athlete? Seems like you would give an NFL tight end a run for his money athetic wise?

I did start to early but thats life, live and learn

my best flat db was the 100's while on hopefully I will get some db's that go that high

A solid ? deserves a solid response.
I played pro overseas. Successful season, modestly spoken. Left agent bc of bigtime $ problemos. Found new agent. BC of my success I decided to hold out on jobs (egoism). Left agent (egoism). Found another agent. Top of the line. May him rest in peace, he passed in a plane crash. Didn't play, train, or do anything besides work for 4 months. Began to come out of the funk, resumed weight lifting. Began playing again months ago. Found a new agent. I'll be ready, bigger, and better in the summer when I have to be. One more time.
You tell me what hooper is doing what I am doing to the degree I am doing it? That is where I want my advantages to lye.

I really am not sure, I don't train barbell at all, I haven't trained barbell in 3-4 years. I was screwing around one day and hit 315 for 10 and 405 for 1, that was about two months ago, and that was the first time I had touched barbell bench since 1998.

while were at it im fuckin jealous of your avatar too, i got that poster in my room, next to a similar one i bought from some dude hanging out by his grave
