I follow a 5x5 routine. 5x5 on all compound movements and 3 sets by 8-12 reps for everything else.

M18

chest gets 10-12
biceps 10
legs - shitload
shoulders 12-15
triceps 12
back - shitload

so which number should i choose on your poll?

The same number that I do while off gear. If it works off cycle, it will work on cycle.

i do roughly the same on or off, but i increase the intensity while on -- drop sets are mainly what I use, and forced reps to for some lifts.

Depends. Pyramiding, drop sets, super sets, 5x5. Depends if I am training for strength and bulk or shedding fat. I do not train the same on as off. I push much harder on. Might be mental though.

9-12 on or off

I am a natural Bodybuilder, never will juice and I get around 30 most of the time, with tons of shocking methods and drop sets.

Then what the fuck are you an anabolic board for?

i train to failure on every set, now if i'm going heavy it might only be 4-6 reps but always to failure

well while ur bulking and gainign strength u pyramid or do ur 5x5?

While bulking I generally stay at 3-4 sets of the heaviest weights I can for 3-4 reps. depending on the lift. I do this for no longer than 6 weeks and switch to drops or pyramiding or supers.

Well that is 4. I have done 50 sets average is just around 30 not including drop sets.
How much time do you spend in the gym?

I hope you're not speeding thru your reps like running a marathon. 30sets is too much, I dont see how anyone can do it unless they're not using enough weight.

5 sets for the large muscles and 3 for the smaller muscles. Same amount of sets off or on. For me its not about how many sets I do but how much all out effort I put into each set. Short and incredibly intense, I`m done and I walk (or limp) away.

Usually about a hour, everything is to failure to.

30 sets per body part? Dude, that's too much. If you're training with any intensity at all there's no way you can get 30 sets.

Since he is no longer around, it is safe to assume he overtrained to the point of self combustion.

Find another board bro. You're a fucking idiot. 30 sets is bullshit and 30 sets in an hour is really bullshit. I'm not saying bullshit in that you don't do it, I'm saying bullshit in that you have got no clue what you're doing. You can't build any quality muscle doing that type of program. You cant average a set every 2 minutes you're in the gym for an hour and be training with anywhere near full intensity.

monday - chest - 15 sets
thusday - backs - 15 sets
wednesday - legs - 18 sets
thursday - OFF
friday - shoulders - 12 or 15 sets
saturday - arms - 12 sets for bis and 12 sets for tris
sunday - OFF

I do 3 sets for 1 exercise , so 15 sets means 5 different exercises , 12 means 4 and so on .

I do that when off and when on I do the same just with much more intensity and heavier weights ...

I love drop setting for bi's. 3 sets to get blood flowing. 2 allout drop sets. 3 light sets to keep pump. Basically 2 heavy sets but each drop set goes: 105x5,90x5,75x5,60x5,45x5,30x5 alt curl and alt hammer curl... some days I do 2's and drop in 10lb increments. Insane pumps even natty.

Chest, Shoulders, Back, Legs all get 16 sets of 6-12 reps depending on weight being used during each set.

Since Biceps and Triceps are much smaller and get work throughout the week, the get 8-9 sets with 6-12 reps depending on weight being used during each set.

If you can't wipe the floor with your bodypart in 4 sets then you should consider rethinking your program or intensity level ... too many guys spent way to long recovering between sets .

Catch your breath and go again .. you want to get back ontop of that muscle before it gets a chance to recover inorder to get at the deep fibers that will cause the most growth ..

REMEMBER IT HAS " NOTHING TO DO WITH WEIGHT " BUT EVERYTHING TO DO WITH INTENSITY !!!!!!

I've seen pro's doing forced bicep dumbell curls with as little as 20 lb'ers ! after the muscle was defeated with a prior set .

30 sets with dropsets? Must be getting a killer workout from those 35lbers...

I vary my workload, wave in more volume when I feel good and my recovery factors are in order and if I'm doign cumulative fatigue work - and I drop the workload when I'm burned out or need to focus on getting my max's up. It varies from anywhere from 2-16 sets an area.

4 on wed and fri

4 plus 1 attemped PR set on mondays

I voted 5.

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed the "on gear" part
