How many people die from steriods per year?

First off Don long's kidney problems are congenitial he only has one and a quarter kidney to begin with. Andreas died of over use of cytadren an anti cortisol drug. Lyle died of a cancer only AID's sufferer's get. MOMO Benizia(spelling )died of a lasix OD. Please people get your shit together. Resent studies of test injections promises only health benefits to males. In healthy males using anabolic steroids the annual death rate in the USA is estimated at zero deaths per year.

you must be joking Perry

What about the Menzer brothers. Do you think it is normal for people do die before they reach the age of 50?
As for Munzer, what ever killed him, IF HE WAS SHOOTING POOL, AS A HOBBY, INSTEAD OF USING GEAR AND BEING A BB, HE WAS STILL ALIVE.

Give me a break. You really believe that A.S. had nothing to do with don long's kidney disease. Come on man.

pgerardone, what can't you understand about Don Long the poor guy had defective kidney's from birth. One didn't even fully develop. The other one was overworked as well as defective, so in this case steroids may have harmed genetically damaged kidneys. This has nothing to do with steroids in the general population. If roids are so dangerous why do the ill informed always refer to the same 4 or 5 names when tens of thousands of people in the USA alone use them daily. In the future please refrain from condecending toward me when you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Good Day

A couple of quick points

Nolvadex only increases the risk of uterine cancer- men dont have uteruses.

lasix is the most common killer of bodybuilders.

Some steroids- especially 17aa can be hard on your liver, but also the increased protein intake and heavy lifting place a strain on metabolism and liver.

There is little evidence that steroid use increases risk of heart disease- though there is some- one needs to take into account the diet of many who use anabolics- which is rarely that clean- so more food + not "clean"- less healthy + cardio is somewhat rare in some circles.

plenty of men die before 50- the fact that they are brothers makes it MORE likely that it was genetic.

Jakobs-klienfelters syndrome( or is that kreuzfeld jakobs)- which some claim is what lyle alzado died of is linked to the use of GRORM as human GH extract taken from cadavers.

Correct. Also, the high consumption of protein in bodybuilders increases the levels of homocysteine, which is now being shown to be damaging to the cardiovascular system. Lets not forget about the high use of beta-adrenergics, insulin, GH, and thyroidal meds, which all may act to increase cardiovascular damage.

"plenty of men die before 50- the fact that they are brothers makes it MORE likely that it was genetic."

Genetics and, in Mike's case, the bias against chronic exercise, smoking, and past drug use. HIT every other week, or whatever the hell he was advocating in the end, will simply not improve cardiovascular health like routine resistance training.

"Jakobs-klienfelters syndrome( or is that kreuzfeld jakobs)- which some claim is what lyle alzado died of is linked to the use of GRORM as human GH extract taken from cadavers."

AIDS also shows correlations with certain brain cancers and since Alzado was known to have had many sexual partners over his lifetime, increases this probability.

My uncle was 44 years old Was in the Greek navy his whole life very Physically fit man. Was very strict with diet and habits did not smoke or drink alchohol. Died of a heart Attack at the age of 44.. No Steroid use..

My Father , 70 pounds overweight, eats anything and everything. Smokes 3 packs of cigarrettes a day, drinks alchohol, Has used all types of drugs and Anabolics when he was younger. Absolutely neglects taking any type of care of himself, he is 60 years old..

Its all about the genetics.. Some people are born with weak hearts, weaker lungs etc..

Point im tying to make, millions of people have used steroids since they have come out, Some people can take more abuse to their bodies than others. I have heard of 5 people in this post that have had some type of complications with AS, i think those are pretty good odds considering how many athletes use them..

I thought I would get in on this little convesation. I think that steroids can be very benificial to a person but saying that they are harmless or that they don't have any effect on your body is just plain ignorance. If used responsibly and in moderation then the sides can be minimalized but if you go real heavy on the doses, eat poor and live an unhealthy lifestyle then it will catch up to you. I do not know anyone who has died directly from steroids but they can lead to other problems that may end up doing harm to your body.

Guys give me a couple of days I've come across some studies that will blow your mind, from major universities and med schools that show that testosterone injections REDUCE risk of heart disease. I need to do a little review first.
