Here recently I have not had the motivation to do much, but I started keeping a journal and it has helped out tremendously.
I hope I'm not the only one with this idea because i get funny looks in the gym when I wright in my notebook, but I say screw em all I'll get the last laugh

i actually just started keeping one a little over a month ago. I usually wait till i get home and write down everything. Its good cause i can see the progress that ive made and only takes a few mins. I do mine in ms excel to make it look nice haha.

You could always keep one here in the training forum online and then you will be able to get feedback from other elitefitness gurus. If not for that but also it will allow you to see how you've come along all at the click of a button. GNC has a great new fitness planner which is free. I use it to judge my calorie intake average. There are some benefits to using that, but ultimately I put it here on elite so I don't have to look around for loose papers.

I felt like this when I started carrying my notebook, and I DO get the last laugh. Everyone who gave me funny looks are still doing the same old stuff getting no results, except for the ones now carrying their own notebooks.

Just being female in the free weight area got me plenty of dirty looks (though mostly from the cardio women :D), so deciding to carry a notebook took some guts. It's definitely motivating, but it also is a great timesaver.

Well I don't carry a notebook, but since I follow Westside I know what I will be doing on each day, and it's easy enough to remember Max Effort Numbers and what I used for Assistance Work.. But keeping a journal is very beneficial to me so I can visually see my Progress over time... Very motivating..

I know what you mean! But I secretly laugh at them...poor unfortunate souls...they know not what they do!

I've had one since I started. Wisest idea I've had, especially since I train with a guy who refuses to keep one, and I get to see the results firsthand!
