How do you titty heads do your steak?

What kind marinade and how well do you cook it?

I'm from cattle country. If it's a good cut of meat salt, pepper, maybe a store bought rub of somekind. Simple dry stuff and we only cook it medium rare.

If it's a crappy cheaper cut I let is swim in cheap salad dressing, fish it out, coarse kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper it and then don't over cook it either. Oh and if it's tough I use a needler on it as Needto has spoken of.

I love it medium rare. I fell in lov with Chakas MMMMMM sauce.

What cut do yall prefer?

I don't eat beef anymore, but when I did, I had it medium rare.

I like a mix of black pepper, garlic powder, and a little cayenne pepper dusted on the meat about 3 hours before cooking. I like filet cooked rare, NY strip rare, and ribeye medium rare.

why don't you eat beef nemore bro?

wasn't there a madcow scare in socal a few years ago?
No, that has nothing to do with it.

Its not as healthy as fish, chicken, chicken, or turkey. (I already don't eat pork)

It uses a ton of natural resouces to produce and produces a lot of pollutants in the process. I find it socially irresponsible.

well you got the first part right nancy...........but "sauce"........on steak?? I hope you're joking.

And y'all better realize that a medium rare steak has to be achieved through the hottest possible flame you can conjure. I've actually been to so called steak houses that will bring out this lukewarm piece of crap that just barely has char markings on the outside. You need to incinerate that mother fucker........makes the outside hot which than seals the meat. I actually cook filets on a ribbed pan because I can get it hotter. I can get the same effect with charcoal........but if you're only cooking one steak it's kind of irritating to use that much charcoal to achieve the right temp.

funny you mention that, recently a student in my program emailed me this:
http://openthefuture.com/cheeseburger_CF.html

I'm sure you've read something similar; basically it briefly describes the carbon footprint of eating a cheeseburger compared to driving an SUV

dude, steak is every bit as healthy as that other stuff if not more. Granted you need to get the free range stuff that hasn't been fed all the roids and hormones. But all things equal, beef is as healthy as anything.......especially the steak cuts like filet, tbone etc.. I'll only eat the lean ground beef, but even with that I'm switching to Bison.......just have to find it in canada dammit!!! Anyway, it's good to eat fish and chicken too........I'm not saying that you always have to eat meat. As long as you're putting a metabolic demand on your body via intense excercise........meat is your nigga!! If you sit in a chair all day than go home and plop down on your couch and suck down beers.........yeah, eating all that meat will catch up to you. Have you looked at the nutritional value of filet??

exactly bro, and this shit isn't propaganda. I give a big fuck you to the free range organic nuts. They do not realize that you cannot feed the world's population without genetically engineers crops (crops that are weather resistant, will grow in less nutrient rich soil, etc.) I find that selfish and socially irresponsible as well.

I don't eat as much steak anymore but I always eat it rare or raw. A good dry rub or kosher salt and fresh ground pepper is all you need. Sauce is for brisket and ribs.

I still eat idealist, ignorant liberals raw though, although even when you cook them well done, they are still soft.

you don't shit raw...stfu!! I'lll bet your dogs cook a better steak than you do.

:lmao:

Its obvious that many people don't really give a fuck about others, and do not strive for the ideal, I'm ok with that as long as you don't knock those that do.

no shit? can u fedex me some roo in dry ice?

it has to be cooked med rare, any more and its like trying to eat rubber
Australia is exporting more and more roo meat every year, you should be able to find it at a specialist butchers/meat wholesaler somewhere, but i dare say youl pay fuck loads for it

I'm sorry, but the human race was founded on hunting and growing crops. To fuck with that "before" we try to fix all this other bullshit that we've brought into this world in the name of "progress".........that's just fucked. There are some very legitimate concerns with engineered crops too. Nature isn't the problem bro...........WE ARE!! There's too damn many of us. So you'd rather forgo a natural process instead of realizing we can't keep growing in numbers and technology like we are??

i eat beef too, bro :) I also drive all the time when i know the world would be better off if i walked. I don't believe that humans are very good at making personal sacrifices to better society; i certainly am not. That's why the aspect of my program I am more interested in involves finding social externalities like pollution, and then figuring out how to make producers and consumer pay for those externalities through things like taxes. This way the market can fix environmental problems rather than selfless behavior which is unreasonable to expect

True. I'll also add to that saying there are too many people in parts of the world that simply can't produce enough food to feed the population. Instead of shipping food aid, isn't it better in the long run to let them starve down to a popluation that their land can sustain? The bleeding hearts will say 'how terrible', but really, it makes more sense.

Raw or rare is the only way...

I eat it raw as beef tataki or at the korean restaurant I frequent. Sometimes at the certain sushi bars that serve it raw as well. Raw filet with some garlic paste, green onions and sweet soy is some great ass stuff.

and this stuff is delicious...

oh well now that's a different story........that's good shit!! Except isn't beef eye round a cheap cut?? You're supposed to use filet for tartars right? Or is filet beef eye round??

It's obvious you don't strive for the ideal, you look for things that make you look and feel better.

How about most of the natural gas from Colorado going to Cali to feed their enormous energy expenditure? What about the cost and environmental effects of cutting through several states in order to run pipelines to feed you hypocrites energy?

Why isn't there more hydro-electric plants on the coast by you? Why aren't there more windmills for power? Oh that is right, it would force you people to put your money where your mouth is.

I remember a few years ago about California fighting for water rights in Colorado.

You people preach a good game and like to tell others what to do while living in hypocrisy. As long as you aren't inconvenienced, but look good and feel good then it is okay.

And when you tire of the high cost of living in cali and exhaust resources, you move on to another place en masse. Namely Colorado and bring your bullshit with it.

Your IDEAL is exactly what we do not need.

Hydropower accounts for 15% of California's energy supply, compared to less than 10% nationwide. Windpower accounts for a little under 2% of California's energy supply, compared to about 1% nationwide.

edit: *misinterpreted the tone of your post*

They use filet mignon at the sushi bar.

Filet is not round no. The beef eye round is tender but probably under a rib eye.

You definitely need to try yook hwe. If you're brave crack an egg over before you eat it.

I like my steak with a little dry rub, warmed and some chopped green onions and garlic on top. Anything over medium rare really is nothing but beef jerky.

I do what I can bro, we do have a shitload of windmills in Cali, I have been saying for years we need more nuclear power.

marinade?? you cooking a pot roast or a steak??

usually just salt and pepper. . .but i may use a little steak rub from time-to-time. . .on a searing hot grill. . .a couple/few minutes on each side. . .so it's dark on the outside and not-cold in the middle. . .then i stuff it in my head. . .mmmmm, mmmmmm. . .makes me wanna run out and bite a cow right in the ass. . .

Wtf? Am I the only guy that likes his steak very fuckin well done...a fuckin starched, burned black as fuck steak....

Here's also the big difference. While steak eaters might feel compelled to hurl insults at me for not eating beef, I do not feel the same urge to lash at that those that do. Its a personal choice for me that I'm willing to talk about, but I don't talk down to those who do not share my own views (when it comes to beef).

I thought I would stray over from the AAS board - it's dead tonight.

And the other answer - I paid very little. Not much more than a plat.
