How do you slow uo your metabolism

Why do you want to slow up your metabolism?

If you want to gain weight, eat several small meal instead of few large ones. eat 6 meals a day, spaced equally thoughout the day. get the right amount of calories, proteins/carbs/fat. and you will gain.
 
If you eat few large meals, this will allow your digestive as well as metabolic processes to slow down, due to the inability to break down this food continuously. The small meals will keep digestion at a constant flowing rate allowing constant breakdown of your food keeping the metabolic processes constant. Do the opposite.

Yup. Infrequent large meals would be your best bet. But like FF said, there's no pill for that.

Eating 6 times per day has given me a hyper metabolism. This sucks donkeys! I cant gain weight now at 204 pounds. BLOWS. I started eating goddamn pizza and fries to give calories.

FOr my last meal before bed I am eating salad with like 200 calories coming from fat plus a large steak with occasional 100+ grams of cottage cheese.



Godamn this 6 times per day eating. I think it does more harm then good. I am constantly stressed and sometimes I loose weight because of the ridiculous amount of food that I need to eat. ANd I aint that big. 204 pounds at 15% bodyfat (abs the biggest and best I ever had) at 5'8.

If I ever gonna reach the high numbers it seems that I would have to eat entire goddamn chicken and entire macdonalds 6 times per week, so maybe, just maybe I am not gonna loose all my hard earned beef!


I think this 6 meals per day was invented by money hungry buggers at supplement companies so you would have to drink their shakes more often throught the day, increase your metabolism and have to drink even more...


dont get me wrong. 6 feedings poer day is GOOD FOR FAT LOSS, but it blows for continuous mass gains.


I need to start eating three huge meals instead of 6 still friggin big meals!

gymtime. SMall question, will 3 big meals work good for mass building? Coz I really need to slow my lightspeed metabolism down and gain some weight.

If I am not gaining any new fat now, how can I gain muscle? We all know that fat is much easier to gain than muscle.

How can I saturate myself with calories if I am not overfeeding (for my fast metabolism?)

The speed of your metabolism is genetic, there's not a whole lot you can do about it, assuming you already excercise regularly. The six meal a day thing works to keep naturally slow metabolisms moving, as opposed to actually "speeding them up" as such.

If you have a naturally fast metabolism, three or four good-sized meals per day, higher carb than normal, is a better approach IMO. But remember that WHAT you're eating is probably more important than how much or how often. In other words, you still need to eat clean, just eat more.
 
How are you gonna get the nutrients your body needs to grow by eating three large meals? your body cant absorbe(sp?) more than a certain amount. so your big meals most likely turn into fat. you are 204 pounds..that means you should at LEAST get 204 grams of protein a day, and thats a minimum. so divide 204 by 3 and you have 70 grams. your body cant absorbe those amounts. and what about carbs? you wil lbecome a lard ass if you eat that way. and thats not what you want. and your stomach would grow utill you looked like Ronnie Coleman..without the muscles.. instead, stick to your 6 meals and gradually increase your calories untill you start to grow.

i eat 8 meals a day.and i would NEVER cut that down.

I gonna get flamed by this. I warn everyone.

BUT., 3 huge meals will be better absobed than 6-8 big meals.

WHY?

Your body is a very adaptive mechanism. It WILL adapt to changing situation. Muscles adapt to heavier loads, your mind adapts to lifting 500 pounds, yadda yadda yadda.

So why cant it adapt to large servings?


What is definition of fast metabolism?
This is pretty basic explanation, no brains needed.
It is a condition when lots of calories are turned to simple energy and little goes to muscle/fat (relatively to the amount eaten).


Slow metabolism is EFFICIENT metabolism. Your calories are SLOWLY BROKEN DOWN, digested MORE EFFICIENTLY (less goes to energy and more to flab/muscle) hence why guys with slower metabolisms tend to be fatter/more muscular even by eating less.


Thus we can take out 2 thing.

1st) Slower metabolism = more efficiency (degesting and such) , hence why people withg slower metabolisms tend to put more fat for each calorie eaten. BECAUSE IT IS MORE EFFICINTLY digested! Less is wasted for energy (like 6-8 meals would do)
and more is actually used.


2nd) 3 meals = slower metabolism.


Plus you body doesnt digest all at once. I think meat takes like 5-7 hours to digest. I think that the body is capable of digesting 100+ g of protein
per serving as long as you give it time and sometime proper supplementation (ginseng root and other digestive aid).


About carbs. I eat tons of them and I I get is kick ass workouts.

Sometimes I would trade it with a sumo wrestler metabolism anyday.


I hate eating. I wish I had super power so i didnt have to eat and still get enough nutrients for energy, muscle growth.
