How do you plan/eat after a night out drinking???

Say you get in at 2am. Your slightly "merry".....What time do you get up in the mornin? Im just asking as how do you work it so you don't miss meals/calories for that day? Or do you just sleep in and get up whenever and miss your am meal? (Im assuming this scenario is off season)

good question bro... my job entitles me to get home sometimes late 2-4am drunk and hungover, next to my dresser i have extra water bottles, protein, and shake, i set my alarm for 6 hours or so of sleep and i get up make shake drink it and go back to sleep for another 2-3 hours than i get up to eat, and i try to eat lots of food the next day to catch up and make sure i eat enough cals and protein

dont get me wrong its tough but pro bodybuilders get up 3-4am just to get that extra meal in them...not easy, just sacrifice you have to make :)

Sounds like a good idea to me.

What I find a bigger problem is what to eat at 3 am when your Drunk and hungry, lol. I always want something greasy.

leftovers bro they are the best... next time you cook some chicken and rice, cook an extra chicken breast or 2 and save it... and when you come home late drunk tear it up... i love leftovers to me they taste better than freshly cooked for some reason

Every time I get drunk I want a plain McDonalds double cheeseburger with barbeque sauce and a huge fry...but of course the grease and the alcohol never get along so I try to steer clear of that as much as possible.

I thought u couldn't metabolise protein when drunk. What would be the point of having a 3am protein meal?

Not completely stopped but research shows synthesis of protein is depressed. Although your liver prioritises alcohol metabolism it does still do some of its other jobs!

I think the main benefit would be
a) getting some decent food into the system, as most people starve themselves of anything but alcohol for longs stretches on a big night out and...
b) making sure you're not prolonging that starvation through your next 4-12 hours sleeping it off! Starvation is the king of catabolism (ie losing your hard earned LBM!)

OK.

Went I'm out drinking, I down scrambled eggs (about 5-6 whole eggs) when I get home.

It serves a few purposes:
- its superior to other fatty foods, e.g, maccas, that I may want;
- I crave fat when I'm hungover
- I find that I can recover in about 6-8 hours even when completely smashed - e.g., get home at 3-5am, within 8 hours I'm ok, even good enough to train that next day.

It annoys me though that when I drink I crave junk food for about 2-3 days, and am always hungry, and blow my calorie "budgets". So my main reason for not drinking often is not to avoid muscle loss, but fat gain, as I've found the latter to be the main side effect
