How do you cook brown rice

Does it go bad because i cook about 4 cups at a time a sometimes it stays in my fridge for a while. It doesnt smell but that doesnt necessarily mean its good.

It will eventually -- but I've eaten it 7-10 days out with no problem. As long as your fridge is at the proper temp. & you heat it properly, you should be fine.

Because the brown rice grain doesn't have the outer husk stripped off it like the white rice grain does....

I've found cooking it on the stove & in the 'wave gives mixed results. I am very pleased with the results from my rice steamer & now use that esclusively for my rice...

interesting, learn something new every day. why can't they strip the outer husk on brown rice then? seems it would make it more appealing to more people...would it also diminish the flavor?

If they did that, it wouldn't be brown rice anymore.... it'd be white rice....

Just as sublime said....

Success brown rice bags, 10 mins in the microwave and its done. I have used this to cut with the past 2 years with great results, im sure it might lack some of the nutrients, but you cannot tell the difference in taste.

Success rice is like MinUte Rick, converted so takes shorter time to cook. i love MInute Rice but don't think it takes that much shorter to cook than regular white rice. takes at least ten minutes to boil and for it all to absorb. white rice only takes a total of twenty. brown rice way longer but the real thing much more nutritous and tasty.

i once read the cost of Minute Rice (and Success) costs like 20 times more thaneregular rice. may be less for the store brand.

the Success brown rice in the bags are very convenient, you can jsut bring them with you to work if there is a microwave, and they are much different then minute rice, taste much better.
