How do I lengthen my bi's and tri's?

I have decent peaks, but my bi's and tri's "end" too far away from the elbow....

I have read that doing wide grip on both will help lengthen the muscle. Any truth, or is it just genetic?

I would say its mostly genetic. I myself have long bi's, all the way from elbo to shoulder, very little peak due to length.

My bi and tri muscles are long also....it is hard for me to get good peaks, but i finally have then...i got them mostly from preacher curls belive t or not...

I have the same problem--if you want to call it that. It actually makes your arms appear bigger IMO. You probably have small joints, too--right?

B,
What up man. I definitely have peaks and it is 90% genetic. The other 10% came from what I believe to be isolation dumbell exercises.

Whether it was concentration curls, or db preachers. I feel that any motion that can possibly cause your muscle to really strecth will benefit you in creating a massive peak. Really allow your bicep to stretch and roll your arm in a downward motion when attempting a db preacher. Roll it downward. Do not drop your arm down and power up.

For ex...Take a 50 lb dumbell and get into ready position on the preacher bench. Armpit in the slot. Take the dumbell and roll it downward creating a dramatic stretch. Just before your arm rolls out into a fully extended position, slowly power your arm back up into the original position. Squeeze 1, 2 and down again. Use your opposite hand to "self-spot" yourself. Keep that same opposite hand underneath the wrist of the hand you are using to dominate the exercise.

For any bicep exercise it is imperative to use that slow, gradual, rolling movement. It is a surefire way to gain solid muscle and increase the possibility of achieving a peak. You can only do so much before YOUR genetics decide the outcome.
:D

Im with everybody else....
Mostly genetic... I also have very long muscles... its where your bicep connects to the tendon I believe....
I wish mine weren't attached right at my elbow.... consider youself kinda lucky.. you'll get a better peak

Mostly genetic? 90% genetic? Gentlemen, muscle/tendon insertion points are TOTALLY genetic and no lifting style in the world will change it.

Agreed with gymtime...people still actually think that preacher curls with give them more of a peak?

Yeah, and pilates is great because it gives you "long, lean muscles" haha. Yes, these short, fatty muscles are starting to piss me off.

What your "peak" looks like is 100% genetically determined.

My are small...but growing. With my arm fully extended I just look lean, but if I flex up it looks like I have softballs for bis...round, peaked, and cut. Some friends have commented on my arms but it's all an illusion. I'd rather have good peaks and shape than just undefined bulk though so it's okay.
