how bad is subway?

arbys is pretty bad, just as all fast food is. If you don't mind your body fat then eat whatever fats food you want. Maybe on a cheat day arbys is ok like once a month. SUbway you could have one sandwich a week like chicken breat and still get by.

When I dont have my meals with me I try to find a natural food market like Wild Oats. Every state has its own naturaql food market where u can get grilled chicken or salmon with brown rice or other low GI carb. Although these natural food market are very expensive.

eat the roast beef at Arby's without the bread :)

In all seriousness, fast food joints aren't the best options. If necessary, some choices are better then others (i.e. Subway). But as everything is processed, the meats aren't the best, the sodium is high, in the long run, you'll get fat, ESPECIALLY if you become lazy and don't exercise :(

i love the commercial they have now....they say "it more then makes up for your deep fried indescretions"
hahaha ya eat subway and it cancles out a meal at kfc.

Alot of good information has already been provided. While subway is certainly better than McDonals or Burger King, it really doesn't meet the needs of a serious bodybuilder. All of the bread has hydrogenated oil present, and some high GI carbs. The meats and condiments tend to be rather high in sodium and preservatives. Its ok in a pinch, but I would not rely on subway as the staple of my diet.

I was wondering if their bread had poison (hydrogenated oils) in it. (I just call it poison or H for short.)

Plus they have low fat subs, but how much sugar is in those sauces? Probably lots.

Also, all fast food chains are required to have nutrition cards for all their products (at least I think it's a law here in California). Ask for one wherever you eat and see what's in that stuff.

I guess it depends on the diet you're on. I'm doing 40/30/30 and every so often I'll eat one of the following:

Arby's: Market Fresh Turkey - No mayo (sometimes light) or honey mustard (or whatever else it is they put on it). It hits the spot and keeps me full for hours

Burger King: Chicken Whopper, no mayo

Taco Bell: 2 Chicken soft tacos

Those foods just happen to have pretty decent ratios for a 40/30/30 diet. In fact, ease of finding food is one of the reasons I switched to a 40/30/30. Just don't over do it or try and make it a daily habit. It can be tough to eat decent with a busy life but there really is always an option if you're willing to go for it.
